I must be very lucky to have purchased a phone that works perfect for me. It has no lag at all and everything works as it is supposed to.. The screen looks very good to me and the front camera "V" doesn't bother me at all. Admittedly I am a light user and my battery lasts me a full week. My previous phone was a thousand dollar iPhone. I hated that phone from the first day I bought it and hated it even more all the time I used it. I had to charge the battery EVERY day. I bought the iPhone because my wife is an Apple lemming and convinced me to buy an iPhone. I'm VERY happy to be back to Android.

I purchased this phone to replace my crippled Honor 8X Max, so far it's a good phone. Fast enough to do the things I need it to do. It's a rather large phone, even compared to my S22 Ultra since this phone is bigger. However compared to the Honor 8X Max it gets dwarfed. The 20:9 screen is nice and the lower resolution make it to be able to give you a very long SoT. I already got some updates and it's now on the September security patch.

I think it's pretty stupid they don't offer 3 major android updates. especially when they release a phone with a previous android version (in this case 11) 9 days after android 12 comes out? come on they could've developed with the early versions and gotten android 12 out the gate so you'd get 13 and 13, not 12 and 13.
I'd skip nokia (HMD global) just for this fact, and their major software issues on previous phones that never really got solved :(

I have the 128/6GB variant. I don't think there's anything I can complain about save for the notorious camera bug that makes the camera freeze when capturing portrait shots, used it for close to 4 months now running Android 12 September patch.

LAW123, 13 Sep 2022The problem here is that both Nokia X20 and Nokia G50 sport... moreOk, hmm, i think that this is android 12 fault. The system is kinda rought at the edges. I ghave notices some strange lag with x30 when apps display over other apps. When i use newpipe in overlap mode. So, a small video screen over the window i primerly use, if that windows happens to be the launcher, there is where it lags, also when magnifying the screen, is even more noticeble. Still trying to find the fault, the x20 does not do that ider. So there is definetly some optimisations to be done. Is tough kind of strange that g50 after almost an year now, is still laggy, hope x30 will be fixed soon...

If you are a techie or gamer, after reading a lot of their posts, buy another brand of phone. If you are a normal person, you will be delighted with the Nokia G50. After I first set up my Nokia, I changed a lot of things including the launcher to Nova. After a while, I decided to start over with a factory reset. I am now using the stock Nokia UI and am absolutely happy with it. The phone did update to android 12 by itself and also did one security update. I am a light user and after four days the battery is still over 50 percent capacity. I changed from an iPhone to android and will say that I hated the iPhone from the first day I bought it and after using it for a year or so, hated it even more. The thousand dollar iPhone is no where near as good for me than the MUCH cheaper Nokia G50. No glitches at all, just works as I want a phone to work. As a side note, I had to recharge the iPhone EVERY day.

JC, 29 Jul 2022Very laggy, laggiest phone I've ever had to the point ... moreI thought it was just mine. Extremely infuriating phone. Lags like nothing I have ever experienced. It's just that I can't afford another one right now but as soon as I can, I'm getting rid of this one ASAP!

If you are a power user, then forget this phone. The G50 doesn't pretend to be a powerful phone. It was designed for normal every day users who are not techies or a gamer. It is a dependable phone that works great for normal users who don't need to have a dozen open apps at the same time. Use this phone like a normal user everyday and you will be very happy with it.

LAW123, 13 Sep 2022The problem here is that both Nokia X20 and Nokia G50 sport... moreI got a theory that lag in the os happens because of os updates
The newer versions of android are unoptimised and heavy and big also ram hungry and have higher system requirements in order to run smoothly
Ever older smartphone that updates 2 or 3 android updates gets so much slower
The problematic end of support for old android versions by Google and need for updating is why smartphones slow down so much more than they should
actifcial obsoletesecnce
With this in mind I think you need at least 8gb ram for a smartphone too be smooth and smartphone with less ram and low end processor often suffer on new android versions that they can't handle

I've been using the G50 for nearly a year. It is slow, unresponsive too often, and needs to be rebooted again and again. I will be replacing it likely with another Samsung which has been reliable for years. I used to LOVE the 6230 and earlier phones of Nokia... oh well, too bad.

You actualy need to get it repaired, is not like everything needs to be thrown.

It never shows the device logo. It rebooted just after 3-5 seconds every time.
I also tried to flash the stock rom but the computer didn't recognize the phone.
I think I should find a trash bin to throw that stuff.

So let's go from the top. What app do you use to send photos? What network are you using to send them, wifi or 4G or 5G data connection? If you install the same SiM card in another phone and use the same app, can you send photos? Are you sure you have enough Bandwidth to send photos (if you use data connection)? Does this app have enought privilegies to read storage data?

JC, 29 Jul 2022Very laggy, laggiest phone I've ever had to the point ... moreMy whife has nokia x20 with the same CPU since Christmass last year and has no problems with lag. I doubt that your lag so much you cant use it. So take a look at the apps you installed or, if you turned developers mode on, take a look if something is on that should not be. Also turn off Magnifier in accesibility menu, if on. Vanila android is known for having some performance issues when "magnify with tripple tap" is on.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2022How can it update?
The phone cannot start properly now. It... moreYou need to enter safe mode firs to be able to further work on it. To enter safe mode, you need to press a combination of buttons. If you do not know what to do, better ask a friend or someone who knows android better. Sometimes by only entering safe mode can solve a boot loop Problem.
To enter Safe Mode:
When the device is restarting, press the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously.
When the device logo appears, release the Power button and continue to press the Volume Down.
If you see Safe Mode in the lower-left corner after the device restart, Safe Mode is on, otherwise you need to repeat the process.
If it boots you need to delete the latest apps that you have installed or reset the device, or well boot again in normal mode and see if it boots, sometimes they just glich without a real reason.
If it still does not work, you need to enter recovery mode and format the device.
While restarting.
Press and hold Volume Up + Power buttons simultaneously till the device logo appears.
When it logo appears, release Power button but hold the other few more seconds.
Release all the buttons when Recovery Mode screen appears. If you see Android logo with No Command text, don't panic and just wait for a while.
You can use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to scroll up or down, and the Power button to select an option.
