This is the best camera phone ever made by any company. I used xperia z1, but the result came in favour of 1020.

Guys very xcited with 8.1 cmg soon....well i.will.be getting soon in 1 or 2 days when microsoft releases it for.developer preview...will post a small review soon of windows phone 8.1

Now regarding Symbian in my opinion is the best os and you won't find in the market something similar, at least, only ugly copy cats as usual. Now wpos first of all is not copycat, is honest, fluid, smooth, no lags, very good browser and can manage excellently the 41 mp camera and video. I have it 3 months and I'm satisfied. Oh btw, 8.1 update is on the way and it's very prominent. All the best :)

Bro how about the sound quality on this phone i love my n8 because of good display, camera, clear audio sound, fm transmitter etc.i want to upgrade to 1020 because it looks like n8 big brother . in some forums people said that nokia is more stronger on symbian OS than wp OS.need convincing advice.

my intent is not to break all 1020 users hearts, I recently sold mine, and was relieved from the WP OS.
if someone is a camera enthusiast, this is the phone for him. if someone is a social user, gamer or casual use, stay away from WP OS.
even if the 8.1 comes out, it doest have features that Symbian, iOS, android has!
yea its simple, but u will gt exhausted from its interface very soon.
im back to e61 (until I gt a new phone), and it feels 100% better holding an original nokia, compare to these latest fake wp nokia!!!!
WP OS was never meant for Nokia and everyone including the 1020 users know this:(

I have about 2 to 3 days with normal use as browsing, making some pics, use whatsapp and make some phonecalls etc, but when you're going to snap some photos, the battery will drain much faster. I don't know about the Lumia 925 but if you want to upgrade, it will be mainly because of the camera I think.
The gsmarena battery test also pointed out the 1020 does run a bit longer on a charged battery than the 925.

I always had Nokias and Use a N8. I bought the 1020 as succesor and I was totally stunned whow hilliarouusly incapable WP8 is compared to Symbian. All onboard Apps like Music player, Calendar and so an are just junk. Not comparable in any form to the N8 Bell player, hands down. They programmed a Jailbrake for iOs, which I hate, but for this nearly noit configurable WP8 os they desperately need a hellbreak. Symbian or iOs is pure Freedom compared to this unconfigurable user alternating system.
There is no way around using the Cloud. Read the news, every single bit you upload to the Microsoft cloud can and WILL be used against you. Read the story of a blogger who posted MS-internals, and his insider got busted because MS accessed HIS Data and Mails in their cloud. And MS things this is perfectly ok, the Data is ment to be used against you, that`s the whole point of creating a cloud!!!
So no spycloud for me, thanks.
But syncing with outlook is nearly impossible without cloud. Nokia Suit doesn`t work, no tool from Nokia anymore for your Phone ..
The List goes on and on. No VPN, no Infocenter, no Background, no usable basic apps (Compare the music player with the onboard Android Player .. its sooo much worse, I cant believe how inferior WP 8 is to ALL other Os out there. It is at least 3 Years behind.
As 8.1 MAY get them 1-2 years closer to the competition, I wait until the Update is rolled out to see if I can use this good Camera with junk os after the Update. Until then I will use my WAY superior N8 (regarding configurability and capability).

Really good smartphone, I am still using it without any problem. I am curious about the update for WP8.1 which is the only thing I'm waiting for at the moment.
The fact that the Lumia 930 doesn't have Glance screen makes me think I will use this phone for an even longer time since the Glance screen feature is a really nice and quite inportant thing to have now I am used to have it on the device.
Using this device for 8 months now.
