I've updated also from Amber to Black 1 month ago, no problem. I was really surprised cause during the update (in download stage), battery was running out, so the device consumed all the neccecary energy to download - ota wifi), then stoped (the device didnt turned off - i made also 2-3 calls)and proceeded 2 hours later to instalation when i get home (no wifi nor internet connection)and charged the device.

it's a very good smartphone I'm using it for a while, no complaints. Only waiting for WP8.1 to be official and starting to roll out.
Nokia refocus app works very well I installed it and I'm happy with the app.

T... more\Good morning my friend, forget to ask you how long you have the device, cause its different if everything was ok for 1-2 months- or even couple of weeks- and suddenly had this problem, and another thing if you have just bought it and notice itensive batt drain (btw did you calibrate the batt wheb you bought it?). As already posted you, hard reset is a good solution, if after this the problem exists then look forward to nokia care. (i hope you dont look the notification "estimated time left", but the %of batt and the notification bar batt.status).

Go for 1020. I own a Lumia 920 and it rocks, but 1020 just surpasses 920 by a huge margin. BTW 1020 is not too big, no way.

41 mp only explain how big/wide the image,not quality.
1st factor of image quality is sensor and lens, not megapixel.

The,only thing that I really hate the most is battery life. Its getting hot while surfing, playing games and takes about 2-3 hours. Not as bad while in standby mode. Many Lumia 1020 users have the same issues regarding battery life. Is it battery problem or its software?

People my phone battery drains out at following rate
a>100 to 5% in 3 hours while playing games
b>100 to 5% in 6 hours while surfing internent and being on skpe
c>100 to 5% in couple of days with no internet & skype but only phone, music & camera
I am using battery saver and by gps is off, is this a normal behaviour , or should I report this to nokia care can any of 1020 users please share their views

which is better to buy, nokia 1020, nokia 925, xperia z or lg g2? i only want good camera, good pdf reader, few apps and games. i don't use my cp for music cause i have an ipod. the bump is okay but i want one that's not too bulky. also, can accelerometer be turned off in windows 8? i know in windows 7.8 it can't be turned off.

Only thing this phone does not have Android - so I cant download bb and also I cannot get my work emails loaded on here. Otherwise the phone is awesome

Would like to share my experience with 1020.
a>Camera simply awesome, best in market I suppose. 41 megapixel kills the competitors
b>Lag free operations, credit goes to dual core snapdragon. I understand that it is not the best processor in the market as we have quad core available, however dual core is perfectly optimized & delivering good performance. What is the use of quad core if you are not even utilizing 2 cores in a quad core processor.
c>Memory & OS - Comes with good RAM configuration again desigined to deliver optimized performance in tandem with processor & Windows mobile 8.
d> What can be improved -
i>Battery life, Battery life with internent or gaming is poor. It would give 2 -3 hrs max with internet or gaming even after battery healthy or power saver mode is on. However without internet & gaming once fully charged it can go for days with talktime & music.
ii>Simple applications like compass, call recorder are not available free of cost vis a vis ios & android. Nokia & MS need to think on this seriously as this is becoming a major gain for android & Ios.
iii>OS upgrades & after sale service - Impertaive that Nokia & MS continue to focus on becoming market leader by providing good after sale service , while Nokia is moving to Android it should continue to focus on MS phone projects, by improvising the store with free apps which would provide competition to Ios & android.
