There is separate volume control now in WP8.1, you can download anything that supports by Phone in stoke browser too. There is moliplayer available that can run every file. Infact new stock video player also do this. Yes received video is saved in Saved pictures but you can always transfer it too video hub using file manager. First learn how to use phone. Many restrictions are removed in WP8.1. Search "files" in store, its a proper file manager. You can share videos via Bluetooth too. Don't support unsupported file because of security reasons.

after updated to 8.1 battery is draining like hell....otherwise it is the best...

It has No file manager, we cant see any files that the phone not supports and we cant move, copy files from phone to mmc..and mmc to phone.. Only we can see musics,pics,vids on mmc.. No seperate volume levels for music and ringtone.. Automatically boots when charger is connected, cant download music,vids without uc browser..cant send larger video files, and 30+ photos that marked.. Dosnt have any powerful video players on store (yxplayer costs rs235)..and we cant play mkv,avi,flvd ,no call recording, and no zooming in video recording,no equlizer, duplication of files, recieved videos goes to saved images folder.. But has an amazing camera.. 720p video.. 1020p playback, stunning creative studio app for photos, great looks, clear audio for calls.., auto display on when it takes from ear(sensor), great touch sensitivity , clear ips display, I Think these limitations and drawbacks will be cleared out by updating it to WP8.1 CYAN.

frndz.. Lumia 520 is the best windows phone. No doubt coming OS will be Windows. Windows OS is free from hacking becz You can only install apps from Store. It is not open source.
But do not forget update ur winodows and apps time to time.
