actually you can revert the process, there's an option in wpinternal allow you to interrupy the booting process to restore your phone using factory ffu image

Phone still works so smoothly, but apps cannot be installed naturally as store won't work anymore, no wonder why people chose android over windows back then

you may need to unlock bootloader, I have the same model but I didn't do it coz I don't wanna take any risk
