dhaval, 27 Nov 2013Dude download preview for developers from store u will get gdr3 I already have download gdr3 preview from store but can't update to gdr3,everytime it says registration where can i registered it,??,what is special in gdr3 please tell me.is there glance screen,double tap function ,call recorder available or not,it must be there in a windows phone,isn't it?????but first how can i update please say details, prashantbgh@gmail.com

I agree Microsoft should do something on their Lumias. The release of GDR2 (Lumia Amber) was too late, several countries have got this update while other several countries are waiting for approval or coming soon.

vijayvj, 27 Nov 2013Friends please say about gaming review of lumia 520. . .1. Reaper, this games was I installed on Lumia 520, played till to be continued (next story need purcahse the game). Reaper in Windows Phone 8 is very good, smooth, nothing problem.
2. Six-Guns. My favourite game too at that time for free. The game was running smooth too in Lumia 520 but I had experienced several times force closed itself, didn't know why. Sound, performance, were very good.
3. Soulcraft. This was actually good game I thought, but the developer didn't fix the game. I installed on Lumia 520 too and played it, after win stage 1 (stage 1 was finish), the next stage was hang/freeze, always hang after finish first stage. When it got hang, my Lumia 520 couldn't be switched by pressing and holding power button, I needed press power button and volume down button together to make it restart.
4. Assassin's Creed: Altair Chronicles. This was smooth too and good. I tried trial version. Performance was fine.
5. Snes8x. Free SNES emulator. It was good too, no many problem. But the rom that needed should be .smc or .smf. This rather difficult to find those extension. If user find roms using .zip, he/she needs PC to extract the file first before transfer it o his/her Lumia 520, compared to Snesoid, SUPER Gnes, Snesdroid, SNES Android are better, most of them using .zip extension.

AnonD-142129, 27 Nov 2013hi any body know the whatsapp application problem in wind... moreYes, I knew too when I was using Lumia 520, not only that, at time it was late (delay) in receiving message, Android WhatsApp still better, Windows Phone apps are still need improvements.

xyz, 27 Nov 2013Ya agree but heir games are very few and that to is not as ... moreActually, some games are good too, the one I said good was Reaper. For heavy game was Six-Guns. I had played on my previous Lumia 520, had experienced several force closed by itself. Yeah, lack of apps and games and like you said, no file manager, those made me replace to Android again.
It said Windows Phone 8.1 will come to existing Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices, but it didn't tell about file manager, I doubt it will come, they avoid this for security reason.

Nokia at some period produce that type of phone which becomes famous world wide remember nokia 6600,1100,5233,5230? And now one more legend phoneTHE LUMIA 520...it is legend phone in Lumia series..nokia6600 a first step towards smart phone

Using L520 since 3months...but cannot able to judge that it is good phone or bad....sometimes I feel bad 4this phone when I saw google play store on my tab...and some time I feel good when I saw its speed....this phone has some cons but it is best in his own different way...it is un predictable phone...today every one mostly uses android devices and in that crowd using this different platform phone one feels some sort of uniqueness,it distinguish its users from crowd...

Simple thing today is world of app store ..more apps in app store means more innovative in phone and less app means less innovative in phone...simple

512mb ram is not enough for any android device as android apps are large in size..but in windows..it is enough bcoz windows apps are considerably smaller in size compare to same app in android version ..their are some big size game in windows store but their are very few that one can count on fingers..microsoft should give serious attention to windows app store.

Agree with filemanager idea for lumia520...im using every type of phones like Symbian,java,android and now windows since 27 years...what I think is file manager is must ...man withoutit the phone is called less innovative....without it one cannot back up their apps to sdcard..without file manager every thing looks pathetic...pics r heir,videos are their,pdf files at another ,blootooth received file at pic...mean it not look systematic...some video taken through blootooth saved under pics....what is this? every time need to connect to pc is not a good idea sir ji.....

Ya file manager is must dude if it is old and outdated way than must say google will not provide it for their android phones...ya u r right ESfilemanager is an example with the help of which one can backup their apps,can hide their vids,files,pics etc..as prior to android this all like hiding files and folders,puts files in folders and all this was the identity of windows platform at that time java and Symbian was only phones in market now windows fails to provide this basic feature....

Ppls I had updated my L520 to gdr3 through preview for developer ..all new features are working well .but I noticed in extra+info their is LUMIA AMBER written and not LUMIA BLACK so it is any problem or it is ok?I got all new features like lockscreen rotation off,etc

That blue light blinking at every new msg at upper left corner of phone is good idea..i had seen in mmx canvas2 I know that it isnot possible in L520 but it is good feature...one cannot have to every time press the power buttons of phone to see fornotification..but swipe to leftfrom home screen should be their for list of all notification...
