2. No, Windows Phone doesn't allow user to download apps from outside.

Before you go for Lumia phones, decide first what your needs. Windows Phone apps are worse than Android apps. I installed WeChat and Skype, both of them don't receive automatically incoming messages (my Lumia 520 is in GDR3 now). Skype is owned by Microsoft but why it is can't better than Skype Android? WhatsApp, WeChat, don't have option to send audio (not recording). Protecting users by prevent them download apps outside Store is good decision, but can Microsoft guarantee apps from Store are as good as Android and the list of apps are much too for welknown name? In fact they can't give as good as Android apps. If you need better apps, file manager, freedom to copy paste file, extract file, etc, stay with Android.

      isha007, 20 Oct 2013hw u update ur lumia 520 to gdr3I installed Preview for Developer app finding on m.wpcentral.com, I openes that app, follow its instruction, login to Microsoft account from that app, then final enable the Preview for Developers, done. Close the app, turn on wifi, go to Settings, to phone update, then I touched "check for updates", the phone downloded the firmware,

        [deleted post]I think USB on-the-go is related with hardware. Microsoft should release new Windows Phone 8 or Windows Phone 8.1 series that come with USB on-the-go.

              i am using this phone for more than 6 months.
              its very good phone especially its hardware 1Ghz dual core krait processor and 512mb ram . its amazing. 512mb ram is enough for the wp8.
              camera quality pretty good.
              good battery backup. i got more battery backup than my friends lumia 620.
              calling experience is also very good.
              If you are a person looking for more apps then its not recommended. wp8 needs more time reach near android

If you have videos file inside microSD you can't share them. You should download video file using UC Browser, export it to Music+Videos then from opening Music+Video you can share video file.

About file manager you should decide it first before you buy a phone. If you like file manager, better apps and games, affordable price, go for mid end Android that has more than 512 MB RAM.
