I had bought... moreYou right buddy..at higher price there are much better phones both android and ios..but at this range..we have got a good stuff in our hand..windows 8 there are plenty room for improvement and the phone is capable for receiving updates ..they have fluidic interface..basics are keep on comin jus wait..many are complainin...:)

Hi everyone,
After so much hesitattion n speculation, finally bought lumia 520, used it for 1 month n here is my eperience.
Look n feel- the phone is undoubtedly the best looking phone in its class. Slim, light wt, eye catching colors (mine is cyan) n a nice 4" screen. The screen despite its low resolution looks quite good, hd movies n wallpapers looks beautiful. Daylight visibilty is a big plus.
Performance- the dual core processor make sure that d common tasks like message, mail etc goes on smoothly. Still it hangs sometime... But overall m happy, wen comparing it with low n mid range android phones like xperia e or sam galaxy grand
Battery- good lasts for 24 hrs with moderate use which includes wifi use, watsapp, youtube, occasional gaming..
Media- nokia music is the best free music app but sadly its free for a short time only. But the collection of songs is awesome. No equaliser settings which is a big let down. Movies upto 720p can be played flawlessly 1080 p stucks sometime. Few formats are not playable but most common one like .mp4 or .avi runs smoothly. Yify torrents movies works perfectly. But again u cant add subtitle n no separate video player available!!
Apps- limited in number but most useful one r easily avaialble, but still need some improvement. New apps are added frequently. Whatsapp, vanilla tube, etc are vry useful. Microsoft office is a simply gr8 unique app, android n ios are simply missing such app n more importantly its free.
Game- low end popular games like temple run n angry birds, fruit ninja runs smoothly n better than on low end android devices. Free games r limited n high end games r not available. But unlike android the games r customized for 512 mb ram n hence no problem in playing high resolution games like angry birds star wars 2. But hardcore gamers will be disappointed by absence of games like fifa, modern combat etc..
Camera- flash is not there, but quality is above average for a 5mp cam. Video recording is good.
Myths-
1. Bluetooth file transfer is not available in wp.
Nothing like that, just need to pair.
2. U can't transfer files from ur pc to lumia without some software(like iTunes for ios)
Wrong again, just connect ur phone n it will show folders in which u can put music, videos, docs etc.
3. No radio in wp. Get AMBER n its there.
Final word- Android is good n better also , so is ios if u want to buy some high end devices like iphone 5, galaxy note2, z1. But if u thinks like me n just want to have an overall good smartphone in a budget range (around10k), then look no further ---> lumia 520
I own a ipad2 n xperia neo v so plz dont think that i m praising lumia without knowing what other os r offering..

AnonD-158242, 26 Sep 2013But its been told earlier that glance is not available for ... moreAfter updated to Lumia Amber on Sep 9, 2013 using Nokia Software Update Retail, my phone was retart, began opening (ready to be used) in teal color themes. Lumia Amber is written in Extras+info. I did reset phone on Sep 20, 2013, my phone theme back to cobalt color (not use backup in beginning to operating). After I did hard reset on Sep 22, 2013, use backup for restoring settings, the alphabet apps list available again.
Today I insert my microSD (no class) again. Try to know whether something wrong will happen. Rather slower than no microSD inserted, there was a little lag when browsing internet using UC Browser, scroll down. Someone said to me, why iPhone never doesn't use microSD slot, it decreases performance.

purba, 26 Sep 2013How can i transfar files from PC to my lumia520?pls anyone ... moreIf your PC runs Windows 7, connect your Lumia to your PC. Like in Android, if you would like to add ringtones, copy paste them to phone memory inside Ringtones folder, videos to Video folder.
