i thnk at starting time they make whole restricted os by various codings.. n now users r shouting so they r work to removing such restrictions..
n as i knw system is only restricted for videos.. n hope they resolve ths..
n users complains lot about few basic features so ther is also hope that they add all features in wp8.1 blue..
rotation lock is coming with gdr3..
also notification centre also coming..
we cant do anythng.. only wait for update.

Guys don't blindly trust WP8 lvr comments. i have been observing wp8 lvr. Looks like MS appointed him to do positive comments about Windowsphone8. I personally like MS but windows8 phone is crap OS, he is saying that windows phone is new.. It has been there for almost 4 years in the market like this so many false comments from wp8 lvr

dude, all phones go through hardware and software issues. even if it is android, ios, wp8 or s40!
it is up to you, how you use your phone. it could last for years, months or weeks. depending on how YOU use it!

ms rolls out gdr2 update long time before to nokia, samsung n others to add ther perticular thngs i.e to make nokia amber update.. but nokia also take huge time to work on gdr2 update n make it amber by adding feature so till now we dnt get amber update.. why nokia roll out fastly amber update.
conclusion is this platform is very critical to develope.. so every1 needs time to develope this system.

And now I don't have any hope about Microsoft OS... I am hearing amber update is coming since 3-4 months... Previous month everyone said its coming in august 15th but still there is no official confirmation... They saying they are fast developing but a small update is late by 3-4 months and from reports there is no fixes for major problems like other storage, rotation lock etc... Then how can i except a major update in on time?? Now I don't have any hope in windows phone os about getting those missing features in near future...

as i told u before wp8 still immature n under development..
so its funny thng to compare it with well matured thngs..
even android was facing such problems in its starting huge time.. android is fullfill our whole requirements in 2011 with gingerbread.. before that android also suffering very badly..
dude every platform face these problems at starting age..
s40= simple java
it doesnt require huge hardware.. s40 is also well matured n very simple to create n nokia invested lots of years to make s40,s60 n belle mature..
if u talking about s60 n belle it provides hd content bt these two r now past..
s40 only in market now n which is worst..
wp8 platform needs time to develope n be mature.. its not happen in an year or twice..
if it is possible then why android developers cant made jellybean or key lime pie in begining two years of android platform or why nokia cant make s40 or belle or symbian 3 in starting 1 or 2 years..
why they wasted lots of years to made ths..
conclusion is every platform needs huge time to be mature..
n acording to experts wp8 platform is one of the fastest growing platform..
it is also true..
in simple words
ms needs time.

It supports java, flash, themes, file manager, ftp file transfer, pc synchronization, can use as a Mobile modem...
and in this phone?? Have great hardware specifications but limitations and restrictions everywhere...

But comparing to its hardware an S40 doing 100 times better than this phone... Comparing an 8 mb ram 120 MHz processing unit S40 phone with this 1Ghz dual core processor, 512 ram Lumia is just like comparing elephant vs Squirrel... But still an S40 gives great performance as compared to its hardware... but this great hardware phone lacks basic features...
Do you believe you can use this device for 3 years without any hardware and software complaints?? But i can clearly say that you can use a Nokia S40 device without hardware and software problems for more than 5 years...
