I’m about to buy a Lumia 520 for a teenager, but the lack of FM radio is a deal breaker. Does anyone know for certain if the new update will activate radio on 520 like it will on the 920? I’m glad I know that 620 doesn’t even have the FM hardware in it, so I dodged that bullet.

Irvan, 09 Jul 2013Does anyone know how to erase cache memory in Lumia 520 ?do you mean temporary memory? well install "lumia storage check" app it clears your temp. memory or phone automaticlay clears it. this app also help you to download your maps on SD card. make sure you delete your browsing history. Note :- It doesn't clear your others memory.

Some users Post bad about this phone or some post good. Well everyone have a right to say what they want to. Here is My experience. I am using this since last 15 days. No doubt phone is the best in this price range,, but have some limitation and thats may be a deal breakers for many. phone is good, performance, Display, OS, is good. Almost no leg with moderate use.
but here are some big loopholls. You need wifi to download everything above 50 mb frm store or nokia maps. 2g is a bit slow, youtube buffers a lot on 2g.(I am using docomo which is fastest 2g internet in india). Well another thing you must have credit/debit card to buy apps. these are dealbreakers for many.
but one solution is if you want to download any apps above 50 mb without Wifi then you ve to download it on PC and then transfer it to phone.
so my advice is that if you have Wifi at home and Credit card then go for it without second thought. It is the best phone. otherwise go for android. gamers also shouldn't buy this. Any query, mail me : patelyasin123456@gmail.com

if u saw history of droid then u understnd thngs better.. droid cames 2007.. n frm 2007 to 2011 droid is almost fight to stay alive coz at that time droid didnt hv anythng powerful.. before gingerbread 2.5 droid launches 5 os.. bt all goes fell.. android market goes up when 2.5 gngrbrd is launch in late 2011.. nw u decide wp8 os growth n improvments are way better than other os..
ios is also very old than droid n symbian is also 10yr old n nokia invests whole efforts n money to develope symbian n it goes fail in world market n nokia goes in whole loss because of symbian..
evrythng need time to develope more thngs properly.. just wait lots of thngs are coming soon in wp8.. ms is working hard on it bt it takes time dude..
***file manager nt ther coz of security issue.. if ur phn has file manager then hackers easily hacks ur device.. file manager provide whole root to hackers.. so ths thng is avoid here by ms..
n only android has file manager.. wp8 n ios dnt hav file manager..
ios is worlds top os.. android is goes at top because of low cost phone market.. lots of ppl desnt afford apple bt evry 1 knws ios is just great..
n wp8 is also going to ths way bt it take time man

I love my phone. But my phone credit keeps on reducing though no app is running in background. I checked from data sense and found out that it's from the 'system'. Please what can i do to solve this problem. Thanks

YXPlayer can play .flv .vob and .mkv files. Let us assume there are no apps. Then how will your file manager play?
A phone is not a portable device to transfer data. If you want to transfer data, take a USB device, why bother with a phone?

You cant access pdf or even office files from the memory card.But can send it to sky drive from your pc and access it on phone. -> I will not talk about file manager, you can see my other replies. 2. Poor battery back up. Lasts hardly one day. -> Maybe.
3. No pc suite like software, hence the phones functions cannot be accessed by pc. -> Not true. There are plenty of apps. For e.g Windows Phone app for pc http://www.windowsphone.com/en-in/how-to/wp8/windows-phone-app-for-desktop
4. The button for bing could have been made customisable to put other functions to that button. -> I agree with this one. Finally someone has come with a very sane and meaningful suggestion. Hope MS listens to you.
5. The calling function could have been simplified. it takes minimum 4 operations to make a call to a number in the contact list. -> There are apps for that. About Internet Explorer, yes, it has limitation but I don't complaint this browser. Can't download using Internet Explorer its OK for me. I don't mind with maximum 6 tabs, in reality most I do I just use not more than 3 tabs. I don't mind too if it doesn't has home screen, it doesn't has rotation. If I use Internet Explorer in PC, most I do I set it 'about blank' page. I had tried Nokia Xpress Browser, I uninstalled it because it disappointed me. I use UC Browser when reading and typing in GSMArena, about out of memory, yes I experienced it too, I had told to UC Web, they said they were working to fix the problem.
I use Facebook app and WhatsApp too, yes the notification of WhatsApp isn't good, but once again I don't mind.
I like Android, I like Windows Phone too. When I have more budget, I plan to go back to Android again. That doesn't mean I call Windows Phone OS bad, all OS have advantage and disadvantage.

4. Never hangs ( unless you run some third party apps like uc browser etc.,)
5. Neat looks.
6. Nokia hardware reliability.
