It's not meant to be compared with in today's time. But even at 512 mb RAM it will work smooth compared to any android phone in its league.
Windows doesn't need hefty hardware to work. Even simple hardware will be enough for Windows to run butter smooth.
It has expandable storage slot.

Nokia Lumia 520 is the worst phone what I ever seen. Company is earning by lock phones and when you want unlock, you should pay for that. If I know that before, I never buy this phone from my "friend".

Lumia 520 its a good choise, it have they good and bad thing, for example, the battery life its too short and delicate, i had to change it twice in 1 year, the screen its a little bit delicate, i fixed my screen and 1 mont later, my phone crashed in the ground, nothing serious, it falls from a short chair, but the touch never worked again :'c
The good thing its the software, its easy to use and very convenient... In general, its a good Phone if you dont need too much in a phone.
