Because Lumia Firmware belong to Nokia.
and You can Install Windows OS self on Desktop. because It`s Available in Market and Computers Firmware Supports these Features.
but if you`re Talking About Windows Phone 8 OS then it`s not Available in Market. So only Microsoft, Nokia or other Windows Phone Makers can Access Windows Phone OS.
IT`S NOT open source like Android.

Hi everybody, one happy news. I am going to buy BLACKBERRY Z10. Its a high end phone. But its price has been slashed down from 44,000 to just 18,000. It comes with, 1.5 dual core processor, 2 gb of ram, 8mp camera, 2mp of front facing camera, 4.3 inches screen, and 4G as well. And lots of stunning features too. It supports even Android apps and games. My friend has just bought it. Haaaa ha wat a mobile. The display is awesome. Battery backup is fair too. So I am leaving this restricted, good for nothing Windows OS. I have awaited and wasted a lot of time with this crap Windows OS of the black update. Ok its an ild story leave it. Blackberry Z10 has lot of apps it supports even Android apps and games from stores like, google play, snap,1mobile and amason. My friend is enjoying with his new Blackberry z10 with lot if apps as well as Android apps and games. asphalt and temple run 2, subwaysurfers as smooth as butter. But here I was waiting waiting and waiting for those games and couldnt get it for 512mb ram though I wasted 14000 rupees buying this crap Lumia 620. The developers never mind low end mobiles they just mind high end device. So I am going to throw away this crap into the trashcan.Now I am going to spend just 18,000rupees and get a high end device with more stunning features. Godbye Windows,,,, forever. Gooddddddddddddd byeeeee.

1.Nokia & Microsoft's Server provide Updates after checking location and handset firmware and OS related info.
and you're from a country where updates are not released. And updated your phone by Flashing it.
So, I want to ask you that what is Flashing a phone(related Nokia Lumias)?

There's no such thing as Nokia care in our country, just local mobile provider thieves. So it's not problem in our 3rd world countries. 1.I Think You`ve changed Your Location in Settings to Netherlands
2. Then Check for Updates.

Some Apps for your Country, like local Banks or Other Local Service Provider`s apps will Not be Downloadable.
Some other Services May make Problems.

if they were to develop an OS in this era , wuth all the big developments in this field , they gotta come up with smthing parallel n matching the other OS..
i dont thnk WP would have as much resources n IT development 6,7 years back which they have now available to them n thay could have made a better start, i guess..
does it take smthing extraordinary to make the OS customizable n basic things like having the option to switch off an app running in the background..
its about keeping pace with the available options people have..
if ur theory applies , then WP should always be behind the android cz they started sm years before WP..
P.S : i am more of a noob ,i may be wrong but this is what i think.

AnonD-238200, 26 Feb 2014funny , isnt it , that window OS users are desperately wait... moreRemember how many years it took for Android to get into good shape. Android 1.0 was not so good at all. Windows Phone 8 is just a baby in comparison to Android, if we take in consideration that for WP8 they started from scratch throwing away most of the old WP7 stuff. WP is growing fast. Also WP8 uses hardware resources more efficiently. For Android, it took to get to version 4.1 to improve their performance.

funny , isnt it , that window OS users are desperately waiting for a small update n we want to have things like 'touble tap' n all which are considered basic stuff in android n yet sm of us debate here that android is shitt n bla bla..
windows OS is far away from android ..i am using both
nokia X series sounds fun though..
fingers crossed for 8.1 , lets c if they can do some magic in that one !!
