I just bought a lumia 620, the battery life is very pathetic, the battery drains completely in 10 hrs after full charge ( very minimal usage ) is it common or is there a fault in my phone?

you can say any information "Official" when nokia or Microsoft Confirms any about Lumia & Windows OS.
Because... these products are Their(Nokia & MS`s)Properity and WP Central is a third party.
if any Product or Service owned by WP central then their words will be "Official" only for Their Product.
