Overall all the specifications of the phone are excellent but the main disadvantage is that it is not Java supported which will get beaten by this in market.

Half, 22 Nov 2011 many disadvantage for wps due its low RAM memory,... moreStatistically wise your opinion is absurd. Tell me how many users is using high performance application you mention..? The industry can afford to ignore them.

Never had any smart phone, but my opinion from a newbee is this one:
- WP phones look complicated with an ugly looking OS.
WP OS want to chain you into its world, like Windows for computer
- Apple phones are classy but for stupid people looking to show off their phones and don't care about not being able to do what they want with their phone. No memory card, come on...
- Android is easy and logical to use, and is for anybody. Extremely open an clever OS
That is why i am going to buy an android phone

a smartphone without micro-sd slot is just not acceptable unless it has mass memory 32gb or more than that. there must be an option to add extra memory. i use nokia N8 since it's launch. i know how quickly memory are being used up while shooting videos on n8.
phone of this category should have a secondary camera. it's true that very few people use video call. but i may use it at any point of time when i like. feature must be there it depends on the consumer whether he /she will use it or not. there are many features in the television sets of our home. do we use all of them? at least i want to have that satisfaction " i can".

MS is a mature company and it shows with how they handle their products unlike GOOGLE. Have you ever wondered how many android phones run gingerbread let alone ICS. Metro UI is fast, smooth and very responsive even with a single core n dat is what google was able to achieve with a dual core.

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2011Well... I can honestly say that dual core and 1GB RAM is ne... more many disadvantage for wps due its low RAM memory, single core processor cannot run latest video games, cannot operate the technology advanced applications, charged via compulsory zune services.
Android are going ahead with its dual core processor and the coming up quad core htc edge/zeta, gs3 etc by march 2012.
most probably, wps processor may not able even to touch dual core processor till its platform reach window 8(appolo), let's says 2 years frm now.
So guys ,its wise to keep silent,
" with little knowledge is
dangerous".

I genuinely don't understand why some people are being so over-critical of the specs. "It doesn't have a dual core processor, NFC or FFC. This phone is garbage!". Well, no. Firstly, not NFC technology is very restricted in most countries and that would probably put the cost of the phone up. It's another novelty which is designed for lazy ass people who can't be bothered to speak to someone to get their number or lift their wallet out of their pocket. "Oh but what if I don't have my wallet on me?" Then you probably shouldn't have left the institution.
Secondly, front facing cameras are a novelty and it's only the truly Apple fanboys who use them to simply claim that the ridiculous amount of money they have spent on the iPhone is justified. I've had tons of phones with FFC's and I've made 1 video call and that was just to try it out. When really could a video call be more convenient than an ordinary call? Walking down the street? No. Driving? No. In the office? No. At home? Well, there's Skype on the PC which won't eat into your data allowance. All in all FFC's are a waste of money.
So, can anyone tell me why people are complaining about dual-core processors? They may allow for better multitasking but look at the OS! Does Mango offer full multitasking functionality? No! So why complain? As far as I can tell, Mango multitasks in the same way iOS does and that never seemed to be a major problem for them, did it?
Basically, this phone is different. It's setting itself aside from other smartphone's on the market and it does it well. By not having a monster screen it can appeal to those with hands that aren't the size of spades. By not having NFC a dual core processor or a front facing camera, it keeps the cost down and by running WP7 it offers variety to consumers. I've had Android up until now and it's boring. iOS looks as if it's lacking oomph, so, in my opinion, it's nice to see something that isn't a unimaginative HTC or an overpriced Apple. Specs aren't everything and if you can't understand that then you've no concept of what matters to the everyday user. I imagine, half the people complaining about this phone haven't even tried it and just want to rate it down because they love their Android or Apple too much. It's just like what happened on Metacritic. A bunch of BF3 fanboys rating down MW3 without even playing it. Wake up and smell the Mango! This is a good phone*!
*this statement was not in reference to the battery which should have been improved, significantly.

AnonD-4340, 21 Nov 2011yeah right, and u wanna make people believe that WP is comp... moreIf you read the previous posts, the comparison was with "Document Editing" of MS Office Docs on WP versus Android, not WP and the full MS Office app on a PC. For sure, there are plenty of features of MS Office 2010 that you cannot access when editing on WP. But editing and saving Office docs on WP then opening them back up on a PC runs a lot less risk of scrambling your formatting than alternative apps on any platform. Even Open Office on a desktop misses the mark at times. Somehow, WP's Office document editing apps know what features they can't replicate, and then don't try to.
No comment on the N900. I'm talking about the average consumer smartphone here, which is what the Lumia 800 is, not power user devices.
