using dis phone since 1 mnth....my battery backup is good & once it lasted for 42 hrs with few calls & with background net apps running & still 30% battery was remaining...with moderate usage it lasts for 12~20 hrs.
Nither this phone hangs or lags or gets switch off by itself...if it does jst restart ur phone

Had for a week was given a faulty unit but instead was told I have to wait 2-3 weeks for another replacement handset pathetic but past all the crap

The good
Form factor
Screen size
Expandable memory slot
Changeable back covers
The bad
Battery life is pretty bad
And if this phone freezes back case is a little fidlly
O.s is a little unstable ATM
Camera is under quality compared to other 8mp cameras
Aftermarket accessories like silicone cases is next to non existent

i have 24k in hand and i have finalized lumia 820 , but the reviews are making me think again. I have been a BB and I phone person till now. I love the features of windows. what would you guys suggest . Should i go with LUMIA or are there other good options at my price level

hello everybody..i have shifted from blackberry to Win8 with Lumia 820...it was a hard step as i had to say my bb frnds good bye..but this is a diffrent expereince provided u r on 3g..i am liking this so far..make life easy and entertaining ..cool apps like nokia city lens and camera has many options...also music store is awsome.i found all the albums which i wanted from 1940-2013...great..but this all comes with the less battery back up ..and calling is not clear..the voice clarity which is basic requirement..therefore buy it if u want entertainment and spice in life..cheers ks

The update that is halted is not the portico update. Portico update is already released some weeks ago and coming pre installed on new devices. This update is 1308 which is halted and will be available after some days with correction.

Sad news: Nokia has stopped portico updation in 820,920 due some connection issues.My 820 ready 4 sale,disappointed.

I love the size of lumia 820 and would love to try the w8 os, but as what I have observed.. there seems to be a shadow on the background of 820, unlike in 920 it's clean. I m not sure if you guys also observed that.

The camera's 8MP with Carl Zeiss lens, but when I compare it with SGS3 (in the Photo Comparison Tool by GA), SGS3 win it.
The color is crispier and the pixel is softer..
Wonder why.
