got this phone for about a week now. here's my review:
starting with the CONS:
-volume key is the master volume for music and also for the ringtones and all other sounds. you cant change them independently. fuq!
-no notification light!
-the VGA front camera really sucks
-the battery is kinda dissapointing, it's like 2-4hours for heavy usage.
-this fone weirdly gets hot. yeah in a weird way.
-there is no shortcut for connectivity(wifi,data connecion,bluetooth), though i think there is a 3rd party app for this, but still. . . .
-there is a space in the camera against the back cover, which will surely accumulate space in no time.
-it hanged once, so far. though not that alarming. but still, i expected no hangs for WP8.
-the facebook app, is the weirdest looking FB app i've ever seen.
now with the PROS:
-the interface is really really smooth and sexy. better that any other.
-live tiles is so refreshing, seriously.
-there is a background for lock sreen(changeable) and also for bing search which are really nice looking
-the NOKIA EXCLUSIVE APPS, are just simply amazing and quite a lot than i expected. one of the best features.
-expandable memory :)
-OFFLINE MAP, wow!
-changeable back covers. i wanted the white one, but i got the black since it's the only one available, so it's a good thing that i can still change it.
-the rear camera is nice, not that great, but nice.
-the store offers not so many apps as android/ios. but it is STILL sufficient. who the heck needs a million apps?! the popular games are not available, but gladly i have my ipad to compensate for that.
-i like the kid's corner, could be very handy
-the creative studio app is great, though i hope they can add more effects style.
-the browsing in IE10 is quite fast, i mean faster than what i expected considering IE, lol.
i've probably missed to mention a few CONS and a lot of PROS in here. but overall, i just love this phone. i hope some of my cons can be fixed by an update. and my pros to be improved. it's really a great fone guys. apps/games are limited for now, but they are coming. trust me. hehe. I have faith for Microsoft and Nokia ;)

Hey Lumia users, I want to know what type of notification we get for incoming messages, emails and facebook messages? Do we get light notification for all? Thanks.

When i connect my phone to pc and transfer some photos and videos and disconnect cable then open my photos and videos there are same file twice and again connect cable but there show one file.what is the solution for that ?

rishi, 16 Mar 2013I've had my Lumia 820 for about 2 weeks. At the begining ev... morewhile medium to heavy usage of any phone, that is internet, gaming, downloads, and other software stuff installation, this problem will arises in 20% of cases.
it is recommended to go to nokia service centre, go for a software update, format your card, after that install only necessary applications.
to my knowledge, 820 is the the handset where it was given much better hardware than any other phone in nokia(i mean for the features it have, the hard ware designed is too good.)
do that, you will feel better.

Punisher, 15 Mar 2013Will the battery life come down if i play lot of games?any battery will be drained if you play games all the time but how fast depends on the capacity of the battery, your usage (brightness etc),and the types of games you play - common sense, get some!

To all Indian users,
Guys you think L820 retailing at 27k INR is touch too expensive device. I mean 27k is too much for what it offers. Ideal price should have been around 22k. It's been 3 months since the device got released and no price cut yet. US and Uk had experienced price cut 2 months after the device got released. People who own the 820, you think you are really happy with your spending? Cheers!

consumers are lacking one thing,Android is forcing to experiment on plastics hardwares and consumers continue running on extra expense,and i think if nokia was running Android software it was better because of its hardware and most of their mobile phones had greatest performance rather than samsung and it is driving better techno specs in smartphone industry.

abhi, 16 Mar 2013plz tell me that it is better than android or android app... moreIf ur priority is only apps then choose android & if u want to go with technology then choose nokia windows phone.my lots of friends have complained about their Samsung droid phones hanging after certain time usage & while installing lots of apps. Windows phone live tiles vl never make u bore while using ur phone

Luminaries are Years behind their counter Android smartphone both in hardware as well as in software.
Elopy needs to copy the latest Chinese UMI flagship "umi X2" features and its Price tag too.

I have some difficulty using the querty keyboard. Is there a alphanumeric keyboard available on this nokia 820 device? Can anyone help me how can i change my querty keyboard to alphanumeric keyboard?

I've had my Lumia 820 for about 2 weeks. At the begining everything was fine, but recently I've had several problems with the device as I mentioned in the title. It turns itself off time to time. It doesn't matter if I'm using it or it's being charged. I called Nokia Customer Service about this issue, and they said I had to give the phone to the service to be repaired.But I heard that the new one also shuts down. I sent some feedback to Microsoft too, but no reply so far. I just want to know if it is about the software or hardware. Does anybody have an idea about this issue?
If the problem is about the hardware I'm sure I'm not gonna buy another Nokia phone in my life. If it's about the software, I hope Microsoft will release an update ASAP.
In my opinion, both Nokia and Microsoft had better find a solution about this issue immediately just before they lose their new enthusiastic customers. Soon it could be so late...
I just can wait for a couple of weeks, then I'm done with both....
