I am using a lumia 620 from past 2 years and really a no nonsense phone. Now looking to upgrade to 830 for the screen size and the camera. I read lot of reviews on it so far and seen many similar range phones in android. The reality is that whatever android does with 3gb ram, windows do with just 1gb ram. when android need a 3200 mah, windows just need a 2000 mah. android needs a snapdragon 801 and windows go flawless with snapdragon 400. All this is the beauty of the optimisation of the OS which is truly superb and best. Now comes the most voiced things like apps and the games, seriously it is just a need of kids and not for the matured working guys, so I never felt apps are less and never play games. Even I compare all important apps are available on windows and it run the games perfect. So there is no comparison with windows and android except people want to play around and root the things frequently. There is no such phone in the segment which is like 830, yes price is definitely little high but it has come down recently which is acceptable for a well built sturdy phone. This is my personal opinion so no offence to android users, I just posted this because it is lumia 830 discussion area

There's no call recorder in windowsphones. But this feature was available in Nokia phones even in windows phones 7. Call recorder is a necessary application which is not supposed to be left out in phones by a serious phones maker.
I really miss this feature in Windows phones. Besides there should be options for your keyboard. The custom keyboard may not be ideal for everybody.

Try to deactivate Cortana in settings and then tell me if the problem persists. I've been trough this problem and now i deactivated Cortana and the problem had stopped.

The apps! There is no Runkeeper, no Dropbox apps for Windows phone! C'mon!!! Some of the most popular apps is not available for Windows phone!??? C'MON Microsoft, Pay the guys to make an app for your phone if they dont think its worth the trouble!
If some of the most popular apps in the world does not exist for your phone then how can you expect to taken serious?
Yes, there are these third party work-around-apps that can connect to Dropbox and Runkeeper. But how serious is that? Feels almost like you are pirating the original service when you use them...

Having using using Microso... moreI come from three years with a iPhone 4. Now I am experiencing the Lumia 830. Many things are rather OK, some actually good, the camera for example.
BUT there is one thing that makes me want to throw this phone out the window!!! The freaking voice recognition that starts spontaneously every now and then!!!
Like today, I was about to send a video message through WhatsApp and as I record the message suddenly I am interrupted by a few beeps and the "Listening" on the screen with some stupid suggestions like "Say call Dad" or "say What is the price of Microsoft stock". This interrupts the video and I have to start all over again. Four times!!!!!
As far as I know there is no way of turning this stupid feature off. I HATE IT!
Sometimes this can happen as the phone is laying on the table by it self... Irritating!!
Still have my three year old iPhone and I dont want to get rid of it just yet. Still considering going back to the phone where I control the actions...

During the beginning years when windowsphone was announced it was true.it didn't have so many programs and it was the worst choice for buying a phone.
But after announcing windows 8 things changed:more apps better services and...
And now with windows 8.1 windowsphone has become a powerful rival against Android and IOS.

Microsoft should give up in mobile os program as the time passes Microsoft fells miles behind its competitors now only htc and Microsoft itself just making windows phones the should try to concentrate on their computer os as the new windows 8.1 is far behind of its own windows 7 as per user comfort.The Mobile OS UI is really a ground breaking in its lightness and innovative UI but what should we can do if most official apps are not updated for long time so I can't see any future of the windows phone ecosystem lets see what microsoft have to show in its windows 10 personally I don't think it will be groundbreaking something.And the UI is just not usable for everyday use, I can say that Nokia made a good decision to go for Android this time.
