n72 can easily compete with n73. n73 only has a better camera, 3g and a bit bigger screen resolution, it's not that much. n73 os the best phone of all ? Yeah, you seem like you know alot about phones. I can name at least 10 phones that are better. You say that only because you have n73...

n70 supports exactly the same 3rd party software as the n72 does. And with that, no phone supports ALL 3rd party software.

If u people r cunfused between nokia N 72 or N 70 then go for N 72 because it supports all the softwares ( third party applications ) and with the N 70 there r some hanging problems in it and i m telling u all this thng because i have used both phones so go 4 N 72. Kapil Gupta.

Nokia N72 is a good phone, easy to use, cheaper than N70. Picture quality is also amazing, Sound quality is excellent, But the only problem was N72 don't have the front end camera.

I think you should be able to use it in USA.
To MAGNUM:
I actually answered this question just a few posts away. It's a light sensor, changes screen and keyboard lightinh depending on lighting conditions around you. For example: If you turn off the light, and use the phone in darkness, the keyboard will light up, so you can see the buttons, and the screen will darken a bit, so it wouldn't tire your eyes.
To ilsa khan:
You can change the cover on ANY phone, just it's easier on one phones, and more difficult on others. It's not that easy to change the cover by yourself, you should take it to a workshop. And there isn't a large variety of original covers, only 2 colors.
To Sam:
Well I am not the biggest fan of SE, so I don't know much about k550i. Personally I think that n72 is better, because it has Symbian. The phones are quite different, but I suggest n72.

Wel, m contemplatin buyin sony ericsson's k550i or n72, evn though the former is cheaper, i'm thinkin bout the normal advantages of buyin a nokia, wht would u recommend??

last week i got this phone by changing 6300.6300 is big crap,very bad battery,can't
instal 3rd party sofware,bad keypad,stainless back cover is very tight can damage the battery lock when inserting.
n72 is very good phone good battery,high feature,good pakage,gud camera,can install 3rd party software,lens cover,image gallery.
slight bulky,slow processing,camera cover can open accidentely when holding,not so loud.
my opinion recomended

There is small clear transparent len in top front on the left beside the word "N72". Does anybody know what it is used for?

I'm using N72 and i really enjoy using the phone, cos it gives me all lovely Features of which a Phone is to have.
All of you planning to get N70 compared with N72 should get one (N72 Rather)You will see it's differences.............................

No, 6233 is not a Symbian phone. E50's camera has pathetic quality, but if you are willing to view the photos only on the phone, it's good enough. Well my n72 never hangs, idk where is the problem, depends on the user i guess...
Well if you will take photos, but won't listen to music, i think 6233 is a good choice. E50 also is, but it's camera is awful - lame photo quality and pathetic video quality. n72 is also a good choice.
Well i suggest TRYING out 6233 before you buy, i think this phone should suit you. If not, look between n72 and e50. Note that e50's battery is the best of these phones.

You mean the square thingy beside the "N72" ? It's the... umm... dunno what it's called but it adjusts brightenss of the display, depending on the lighting conditions around you. For example, if you are in a dark room, the screen gets a bit darker, so it won't tire your eyes. When you're outside, the sun is shining, the display gets brighter, so you can see everything clearer in direct sunlight. I hope you got the point, try it out yourself: put the finger on the square thingy in a dark room.
To mish:
Probably because n70 has 3G, and n72 doesn't. The difference isn't that big anyways.
