TIEf,

Disregard my statement on HK & Taiwan, my mistake.

@ Richardindo,

What do you mean ?

If its CHinese SMS you want, choose writing language. If U want phone to display in Chinese then change phone language. Or lastly if u want to language dictionary, then goto application website and download to phone.

One of the above has to be what u want right ? Just a joke. Bye

    Hi TIEf,

I've read about that fonts thing too. U sure N73IE not out in taiwan & HK. Read somewhere that it was out.

Would not want to void my warranty right now. Hope that the miniSD Wifi card will be out soon for Nokia phones.

    Where are u from ?

        hi jon,

i posted the link but it says go straight to moderator....

anyway, FYI, IE is only out in places like Taiwan, HK...so my guess... is region codes for other countries etc will not be available, unlike the music edition....

in my opinion...not much of incentive to upgrade to internet edition....heard that english fonts will be slightly "distorted" because it is a simplified / traditional chinese firmware....

the yahoo and msn application added into IE is not a big deal....tried it on my "normal" N73 ages ago....

How To: Update Original Nokia N73 Firmware to Music Edition

              http://thenokiablog.com/2006/12/08/how-to-update-nokia-n73-firmware-to-internet-edition/

The Nokia N73 Internet Edition Firmware 3.0638.0.0.43 update is now available. The Nokia N73 Internet Edition was only announced in Taiwan and Hong Kong, but anyone with the N73 can change their firmware to take advantage of the new firmware’s features by tricking Nokia Software Update. How is the Internet Edition different from the recently released Music Edition? Find out now as well as the instructions on how to update your Nokia N73 firmware.

The Nokia N73 Internet Edition contains all of the features of the Music Edition, but the multimedia key in the Music Edition goes straight to the music player. The Internet Edition retains the function of the original multimedia key where you can configure your own shortcuts to applications. They also included Windows Live Messenger and a few shortcuts to popular websites in the Internet folder. Otherwise, same as the Music Edition.

Updating to the Internet Edition is similar to the guide I wrote earlier on updating to Nokia N73 Music Edition.

                  Hi Volt,

Hit the search button at end of page and search for N80 for all the posting on N80 vs N73. I have highlighted a post below from Shuan, he has used both N73 & N80.

                  I have both the N73 n N80.

                  N80 - Crap
                  N73 - Best!

                  N80
                  - Audio Quality Crap
                  - Too much bugs wid phone
                  - IE (Internet Edition) uses a lot of phone internal memory leaving applications to exit wen opening more than 2 programs eg music player & internet.
                  - Camera poor
                  - Video Recording poor

                  N73
                  - 100% Quality speakers 3D Stereo
                  - 6 Equliazers
                  - Audio Visualations
                  - Camera better than N80
                  - Battery last longer than N80 (1 day)
                  - Phone works faster (v3.3.0704.1.0.1 or 3.0705.1.0.3 ME)

at the moment there are 2 Product Codes available for APAC
1)0539366 - English, Traditional Chinese & Simplified Chinese
                      2)0539364 - English & Traditional Chinese.

U can upgrade with Product Code 0539366. It has got English as the Automatic Option in the Language Option in Phone Settings.

use the NSS to change ur product code to the desired version's code & then use NSU to update ur firmware.

for people interested in changing to music edition

TUTORIAL: How to turn ur N73 into N73 Music Edition

                        screenshots here

                        http://thenokiablog.com/2006/1...sic-edition/

This is what we do, step by step:

Firstly, remember to buck up ur data from the phone to the Memory card like that: Tools/memory card/options/backup phone mem.

                        Steps:
                        1. Download that software tool NSS from here : click here to go to the NSS downloading page
                        Code:
                        http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/fil...NSS10383.zip

                        2. Extract the tool from the archive and install it.

                        3. Connect ur N73 to the PC via data cable.

                        4. Now open NSS tool, in the upper right corner there is an icon in a shape of "magnifier", press it to find ur attached device. In the upper left corner is a button "Info", press it to find out ur phone firmware code. It should be somethin like 0538........

                        5. Now instead of the existing code write some of the follows:
                        0537289 Euro 1
                        0539193 France
                        0539207 Alps
                        0539239 Euro 2
                        0539256 Turkey
                        0539265 South Africa
                        0539269 Scandanavia
                        0539278 Baltains
                        0539279 Russia
                        0539284 Ukraine
                        0539285 Bulgaria
                        0539289 Hungary
                        0539291 Balkans
                        0539293 Greece/Cypurs
                        0539294 Lebanon
                        0539295 Gulf
                        0539298 Israel
                        0539299 Romania
                        0539343 Chinese, English
                        0539346 Philippines,English, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philipino

0539341 Belarus (sorry guys, those are all the codes, that I know, there are many more for every region of the world)

                        6. After u enter the desired code in the "Product code" field press the "Write" button below. That's it for now - exit the NSS tool software.

                              Hi Lahiru,

Its really challenging reading the site, the only French word I know is Bonjour, a brand of bread in Singapore.

Somehow, guessing not sure, but it seems like its not compatible with symbian phone. Can u get in contact with the manufacturer to confirm. Sure will be great if its usable in N73.

Time for u to take over, good night, its 4.30am on a sunday morning here in Singapore.
