All this stuff about digits and bad or good quality is just bullshit. Mine is 02 and labeled as bad quality. There is no phone that has ever made me as happy as my N78. Whether its functionality,user-friendliness, interface, keypad, software installation and performance, is all good. there is always room for improvement which of course comes with firmware updates, but I cant complain much. Why would Nokia want to have different standards in different countries? Crap!

mine one is awesome. camera result, wifi connectivity, speakers, sound quality, browsing n every thing is perfect, i dont know from where u people are buying your phone, even it has serial no 02, i thing someone is cheated so bad or he's unlucky with that phone, dont believe in such story cuz i m lucky ALHAMDULILLAH

i also get a series number of XXXXXX02XXXXXX.
but i have this phone since last years(7months user) and it does not show any significant error excepts i can't install some softwares , games, and couldn;t even open some downloaded movies.

i bought nokia e71 and i have same problem and i ask the agent he cant help me that anther phones can install the format befor 3 week i found software to transfer the format from sis to sisx and its dont work, i suggest change to iphone its the best

Then check the 7th and 8th numbers:

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 0 , 2 or 2 , 0 this means your cell phone was assembled in Emirates which is very Bad quality

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 0, 1 or 1, 0 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Finland which is very Good

this is a great phone to buy coz the this is cheap and this is os v3 and have gps too phone man...if u see the other v3 phones prise compare with this n78...i will say go for n78 ...all the software can be download at www dot sis.com

What do you expect from a phone with GPS,HSDPA/3G,WiFi,BT,microUSB,FM Transmmiter/FM and Visual radio,3.2MPx(cool cam.with C.Zeiss optics,AF),Touch-sensitive Navi wheel,and many other so cool features and functions,for a price of around 200 euros???

I think that is the worset Phone I have ever seen in nokia (N78) , I bought the phone in Dec-2008
1-After 4 days the upper sound speaker stopped suddenly
2-Also the loudspeaker stopped but after update the firmware after 5 months the loud apeaker working in the bottom speaker only
3-After connecting the bluetooth headset BH-207 the phone seems that it works well but it hangs and i can't switch off the phone unless i remove the battery
4-the cammera zomming stopped , i can't zoom and this after the last update :(
Note that my software version 21.002
Please I need ur help how to solve those problem , really am disappointed .
