nseries, 11 Jan 2009could anyone tell me about the "hotswap"?? what's it use for??It means you can remove/insert the memory card without having to turn the device off basically.

Well, I just bought tis phone yesterday...It was just very awesome...The navi wheel...sound system...and even the camera is functioning greatly..I love its navi wheel and xpress on feature..
However,it might be slow if compared to other Nseries while opening the application...
One thing that i dont understand about is the dictionary..How to install the word database?

hi guys. i was wondering, can i see my e-mail on the n79? does it show e-mails with attachments? i want something like a windows mobile device but id prefer a n-series phone, symbian is equally good, and more easier to use. i find wm phomes kind of tiring. thanks in advance.

I bought Nokia n79 2 weeks ago. I think this phone is awesome. It is fast compare to SE p1i. So far I like this phone. Light and not bulky. Sound is ok compair to SE.

i purchased n79 yesterday.when i plugged in my headset the phone said enhancement not supported..then i tried again by plugging the half of the jack.then a menu came which asked for tv out, headfones, etc..when i selected the headfones.m not able to use the buttons on the headfone jack for changing the volume or changing the songs.neither m able to coonect or disconnect the calls..i ve cheked the button on the headfone jack its "ON".
PLEASE HELP ME.THIS IS PISSING ME...

n79 black has been released. but does it look very impressive? check out at www.nseries.com . i think the grey one is still the best for boys & the white one for girls.

i think this phone is not the worth... i have used it for a week and then sell it... the reason is that i got a problem with the display light.... but the experience with phone is not good....its slow...all application take some time to open even the messaging....bad camera even in day time...noise is always there...keypad is worse one...very hard...the only good thing i found with this phone is that it got a new interface.....
and two of my friends comments were that it looks like a made in china phone when they first see in my hands...

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2009i am having a problem with my N79...the Display light does ... moreMay be you set the time of "power saver time-out" sooner than the "light time-out". That's why your phone goes to stand by mode by the function of "power saver time out, stead of light time-out.

Been using this phone for the last 2 weeks absolutely fantastic. Good Camera, good loudspeakers and fast response time. However i'm getting software compatability issues with the OTA updater any ideas guys?

RATING ON THIS PHONE: IN COMPARISON WITH NOKIA N95 AND N82:
1. design-9.0-slim and well constructed, keypad is a little hard to press at first, it will get better if you're used to it. Whoever has big big! fingers will have hard time with the keypad.
2. sounds(music/loud speaker)-8.8-music quality is very good and the loud speaker is above average
3. camera-8.5-camera takes decent picture if you know how to adjust the settings, video recording is above average also. LED can be used as a torch!!!
4. GPS-takes 2-4 minutes to get locked on from fresh!! after that, it's very fast
5. user interface-is fairly fast
6. reception-is very good, it doesn't drop calls like sony phones!!!
7. battery-normal use 1.8days+, heavy use 1-1.5days. the life of all batteries will be shorten about half after 6 months of usage!!! What's wrong with charging the phone every night?
8. touch scroll pad--works for some and does not work on all interfaces!!!
IN COMPARISON WITH NOKIA N95 AND NOKIA N82!!!

Galiver, 08 Jan 2009guys i'm managing to buy this baby..and i wanna ask current... moreAwesome phone, have had alsorts including Sony Ericsson C905, which was seriously flawed!
But N79 has great Spec, excellent battery life, games,etc.etc, Can't fault it!

Its all in all, reasonable cost, having bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, 5mp camera, good looking. I'll probably buy it.
Gsm Arena hasn't given its full review about it. why?
