I want to ask one... moreWell about E71?.. Sorry, I can't compare the N79 from the E71 in terms of speed because I haven't used an E71 for real...
But one thing to note is that, both N79 and E71 have the same chipset and CPU clock rate which is a Freescale ARM 11 369 MHz CPU. So it's a pretty sure bet that they both have the same speed... But again, that's just my own perception and I'm not sure about it.

I bought it yesterday and it's very great. the phone is amazing. the camera, the music Oh!! i just love this phone. n79 rocks.

The pho... moreThanks for your great review, N82 has obviously better camera (same as N95 8G) than N79 (same as 6220C), especially for video. And they are now the same price. But the monster size of the N82 turn me off, and I still prefer the N79.

actually it has not also been widely released in Bangladesh(which is my country) too.
in our country the biggest market is Bashundhra!and there tthey brought 2 sets!
now listen to my very intersting story!
that day i went to that market to look at the price of n82 because i was going 2 buy it by 14th!(tyhat day i visited was 9th)
i was browsing thru sets and then i saw this beauty! i asked them about it because i was sure that n79 wasn't released in our country!they confirmed me that it was n79!the price difference of 79 and 82 was only 1500tk aproximately 23 dollars.and i also asked the shopkeeper if it was released they said that this are the initial 2 set in bangladesh(in legal way atleast,i dont know how many was smuggled from abroad!)
and he was also generous enough to switch it on and let me play with it!iwas ther for almost an hour! and in that hour i decided that i am going to buy that set!but i was short of some cash and it was almost dark so buying the set that day was imposssible!i came back home and i was so exited!actualyy since i saw it i was in love with the set but thought that the set wuld cost atleast 100 dollars more than n82 but when i saw the price differece and 4gb vcard 3 xpresson covers!the best look among nseries(if not the whole nokia family)nd the balsting speed!i just couldnot resist my self!i couldnot sleep that night!the market opens at 10am! the first thing i did n the next morning was to go there as soon as possible but to my despair one of the set was sold!i was shocked!but then i remembered that there was another 79 in the groundfloor(did i mention that they have wo nokia oulet one in ground and another in 4th)tthen i rushed there and not even checking the set out i told them to pack it!because i saw another man taking a good look at it!but the set i got was seal grey !i wanted to buy white!btu atleast i got it!but now i think they grey one looks more classy than the white!
i just can tell u that day i lost almost 5 pounds in excitement!i just cant believe that i was one of the lucky 2 who got the set!even today i called them!but stil n79 hasn't yet ben released!just as u know my set has no problem at all it awesome!everything and anything i ever wished for from a mobile is in it(literally!)
all my friends are excited about it!one of my friend got so excited experiencing it that he just gave me his Bose in ear headphone to use as much as i want! now the combination of nokia and bose has become so awesome taht i never close my music player!last two nights i slept with music on!
superb phone !i am still so much excited about.
i am sorry if i bored you guys bya long story but i thought that the world should know that there are so many crazy fanatics of nokia!
annd Stefanos,buddy the best thing you can do is to goto the nearest country wherte it has been released(just for even a day!) and buy it and then head back home with an amazing story like me to tell!(well i actually planned to do so for 5800 if it was released in india in this year!)
and another trhing! those who cant live without camera would choose n82 but all oter would chose n79!

Hey yah N79 owners! Yups i already have this phone. The phone that I was using before this was the N82 titanium silver. And all I can say is that, the N79's display quality is the same with the N82's display running a v.30.0.019 firmware (fingers crossed). But the notable difference among the two is that, this N79 has the nice "zoom in and fade" menu transition whereas the N82 didn't have this eye-candy effect (even with its v.30 firmware). Other than that, I feel at home with using the N79 because it's almost like the N82 feature, functionality and performance-wise.
The things that I like with the N79 which the N82 didn't possess are the nice menu effect, dual LED flash that can serve as a video light, sound output signal is like 20% louder than the N82 both in headset and the loudspeaker, better numeric keypad (though i feel uncomfortable with the number 2 button because sometimes i accidentally press the down scroll key), of course the fm transmitter and last but not the least, its stylish design.
Other than those, the N82 is better in my opinion. N82 has a way way better camera and most especially in shooting at total darkness, I should confess that I miss my N82 now. =( The Xenon Flash does really make a difference. It's about 1000 times better than the dual LED. But at least the LED can serve as videolight but... I really missed Xenon. =( And another thing that I have observed is that, the N79 has slightly worse video quality than the N82. I have here in my micro SD a lot of videos that I took using the N82 and using the N79 and I can prove that the N79 has somewhat worse VGA 30FPS video quality. I know some of you will find this weird but... that's really noticeable even with your very first watch on the videos. It's like the N79's VGA 30FPS video is like just a very little bit better than the QVGA 30FPS of the N82 (no offence, this is what I honestly observe hands down).
And also, the N79 is just a tad slower than the N82 because of the menu effect. Other than that, the N79 and N82 are both lightning fast even with browsing the gallery but as I have said the menu transition of N79 makes it a tad slower.
But nevertheless, N79 is a very good NSeries with a 5 mp cam, sexy and stylish for a NSeries (blows the N82 miles away), longer music playback time than the N82 (obviously!), louder speakers and listening music through headphones.
But on the other hand, if you heavy on imaging and concerned about video quality, you might as well go for the N82.
And by the way... I almost forgot that the N79's battery again is a notch better than the N82. In my case, the N79 used to last 3 days while the N82 (with v.30 firmware) lasts for around 2 - 2.5 days at maximum in my own usage.
P.S. I'm not biased here (and I just can't afford it because I both love these two phones which are both unique in their own way). We should accept that the N79 and the N82 have their own advantages and disadvantages.

have to use finger nails to press call keys. Tend to press key 2 when trying to scroll down on the D pad( navi key. Otherwise perfect phone..
