go lookt the voting re... moreThe votes dont imply which is the best phone. Samsung i550 is at number 2 and n95 at number 3, yet the n95 is more superior. But you are right. The n82 is one of the best phones around.
There arent too many differences between n82 and n79. Maybe slightly better battery life, symbian fp2 and an fm transmitter. But thats basically it. They're on the same level, which sounds like a good deal to me.

If you read the opinions to 6229 cassic, you see however that GSMARENA ignores this phone and the people that respond to the site.

will this have the same music player as the 6120c or is there a new updated version? Because the one on 6120c is very poor - my old SE w800 was leagues ahead! :(

Nokia made a big mistake on N78.
and i think he don't repeat his mistake again on N79 or N85.
i guess both of them shuld be FINLAND and not CHINA.

i have nokia 6270,and its about 1.5 years old. it is a high end high cost mobile from nokia. i and my many friends trusted and bought several nokia coslty sets. but after the warranty is over it started giving problem.........and when i took it to nokia care ,they said [bit can not be repaired[/b],they even did not see what was the problem. then i took it to another nokia care,and this time they just touched it and told it can't be repaired...............friends do not buy nokia high end mobile phones because the[b after sells service of nokia is the worst ever[/b].i and my friends are suffering so i thought that i should post my bitter experience to all..................once your warranty is over your costly set will start giving problem and if it is then its gone because nokia's high end mobile life time is just the warranty period they provide. most customers are facing this problem..............friends be alert and please do not buy nokia

abc, 02 Sep 2008y do people need stylish phones, do they marry the phone or... morenobody wants an ugly phone because they cant flaunt it in public. n79 is a stylish phone. its more of a fashion statement. the interchangeable color covers match your personality, mood, dress or occasion. the features are just too good. before you had to pay a premium amount to have a gps, wifi, 5mp camera, etc in one phone. but now, you get it all at a very reasonable price. that's what n79 is all about, function and style.

I wonder how the video recording at VGA 30fps will be?
I heard that 6220 classic (same processor as N79, the Freescale mxc300-30 369MHz), records VGA 30fps, BUT the quality is low compared to N82 (processor TI OMAP 2420 332MHz).
Let's hope it is only a software reason. Although, I really don't know how can the Freescale platform handle 5mp and VGA video recording at 30fps (check the specs on official freescale website).
On the other hand, the benchmark posted on this article:

Can anywone confirm anything?

Difference with 6220 Classic: 10% bigger screen, wifi, longer batterylife, bit bigger size (right in the middle of small 62220 c and (to) big N 82.Xenon flash vs led, according to Nokia-site bigger resolution too (soas cameraphone not exactly the same.
Some one said nevertheless 6220 bette camera (?). We need the GSMArena REVIEW to be sure.

As is Nokia's practice of releasing black edition models after some time a model is released, will they do the same with the N79?
What do you think guys? I love phones in black but I hate to wait. Wish they also came up with a black model aside from the white and grey colors.
But anyway, color isn't that much of an issue. N79 is so stylish and so packed with features. This will be a well deserved update to my current phone which is a 5700XM.
Nokia will really have a sure-fire hit with the new Nseries phones.
I agree with gsmarena's article, pertaining to N78 owners becoming disappointed once N79 is released. They must be scratching the back of their heads because of that. But N78 is a good buy, I should say. It also has some features almost similar to N79. The camera is a big deal for me and I'd go for a phone with a 5MP AF shooter. N79's also got an in-box 4GB microSD card which makes me salivate. And with the two extra XpressOn smart covers included, there's some fun element with the package. And the battery life is acceptable, given that most of N79's potential users will really make the most out of the handset.
How I would really want to have the N79. I'm now saving for it come Christmas time. Yippee!

N79 is much more stylish than N78. You just gotta see it in person because internet pictures just don't make justice.
