Nokia would be better going along with Microsoft and coming up with a WP7 OS with this phone. It would be great.

Dear people, I don't know why are you trying to bash and make it look like N8 is the WORST phone ever built... I am using this absolutely amazing phone since November 11, 2010 & it is sure a babe.
I am using Internet with it (24/7), along with taking pictures, listening to music/radio, playing games and of course, calling purpose. It gives me perfect support. I do all those things and at night it stays at least 14% (I'm using SPB Mobile Shell, so I know how much battery is remaining).
The camera quality is AWESOME. Those who are bashing it's camera, please take a picture with an N8 & with another phone of your choice. Take both to the PC & then compare the quality by zooming the pictures. You'll see the differences yourself.
The sound quality is very good. I keep on listening to music even when I drive. Sometimes I don't bother to put on the BT Handsfree as the main speaker is good enough. Just remember to not to put it on the bed (or soft surface) facing it up (screen up).
The OS is NOT laggy. But it is slower than IOS & BADA OS. But that is so neglectable that it will cost you maybe at most 1 second. Personally, a single second will NOT kill me.
Those who love games, for them, N8 is offering some great games like NFS Shift, Galaxy on Fire, Real Golf 2011, Classic Monopoly, TRON Tanks. And all of them are free (I have all of them). My personal favorites are Galaxy on Fire and NFS Shift. So those who tell us that the Angry Birds is better than the games I named, please, think it twice. Motion Sensor games are worse than Touch Screen games??? Come'n, don't act stupid.
I have installed SPB Mobile Shell & it is awesome. Some of the people here says that Nokia is NOT eye candy. But dear bashers, for your kind info, with Symbian OS, we can CUSTOMIZE (have you heard of the word?) our phone and make it look like whatever we want. This is the beauty of Symbian. Now my phone is eye candy (if I want to make it one) and also a workstation.
It has HDMI port (I haven't used it yet, I don't have an HDMI device). I use the USBOTG daily to connect with my Pen drive & my N85. It works smooth. I use Ovi Maps to guide me through the city. I have also installed Own Voice. Now the Maps guide me in my own voice. I check my emails, compose a new one (with attaching files), right from my phone. I browse YouTube, watch movies, play games, take panaroma pictures - everything from my N8. What else do you want from a cell phone?
Maybe other OS is better, maybe your phone is better. But I love my phone, it serves me well enough. And btw, all electronic devices can get fried anytime. If you go for higher CPUs, then the phone might not fry, but it will sure fry your brain with the frequency (exhibit 1: the bashers, who keep on telling about their own phone over N8 in this forum. The phone has fried their brain, so they can't remember that this is N8"s forum, not IOS, BADA SO, Android OS forum). I can buy another phone, if my phone dies and I live. But what is the benifit for you if you die and your phone lives?
To all of you, be careful about these trolls. I am telling you, go for N8 IF it suites you. Go to Nokia center, try the phone for AT LEAST one hour, then decide whether the phone suites you or not. But for me, this is the best phone in this price range.
          Keep N8-ing.

To all genuine n8 users and potential buyers,
Do you know who are the people that are bashing the N8 here??? They are:
                    1. Apple iPhone 4 users : They have a gr8 phone but as soon as they hold it "IN" their hands, the network goes "OUT" of the phone. They have bought an expensive but stale apple.

                    2. GalaxyS users: They thought that if they have a galaxy, they have everything. But forgot that no "galaxy" can be bigger than the universe. And yes adding prefix 'super' to anything doesn't mean it is better

                    3. Wave users: What to say about them. Their phone is good for nothing. They wasted their money on a toy phone. Hats off to these idiots.

                    Dont hive attention to them

These trolls and bashers only come here because they can't afford a Nokia N8.

Nokia N8 is for smart people who understand megapixals and technology.

Just ignore the trolls as they are only seeking attention as they have no life and can't afford a Nokia N8.....

Kamrul, 03 Jan 2011Could anyone tell me where is the Digital compass in N8 ???The digital compass is in-built with the Ovi Maps. When you switch on maps, after it loads the map, press briefly on the compass, then move your phone and your compass will move according to your direction. If you press again, it will be static again.
                            Hope this helps you.
                            Keep N8-ing.
