Sun, 02 Jan 2011V good phone but missing equalizer settings which is mostl... moreHey men, note this is not a nokia forum, if you really want to contribute to Nokia development go to nokia sport discussion and post your comment there, there is a thread called N8 firmware suggestion and N8 music player leave room for improvement and this things are discussed there long ago and even they have a work around for modifiable equalizer settings now.posting this stuff here won't make your intention work.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2011me, ifan? You didnt read my post. You think iphone and N8 a... moreOk pal, tell me what's so impressive on htc, what is the model you are talking about? Can you tel me what improvements htc made to their spec sheet after HD2? What improvement they have made in software front after sense 1, don't tell me sense 2 it's not an improvement. Hey pal why htc went from 1GHz processor in desire to 800 MHz in desire z? What does it show to you? Have you heard of the plug and touch feature of N8, it works on image processing and many would wonder to see the capacity of ARM 11 to do that complicated image processing with such ease, what I strongly believe is no one has pushed the ARM 11 to it's maximum capacity and they jump to the giga hertz race. Nokia are still pushing it to it's potential. I see nothing wrong there. E7 is sure gonna be a better device than desire Z.htc has ben rated as one of the biggest let downs of 2010. competition is always good, I hope htc will come up with something new in 2011 to prove their self other than sending buses to nokia event to get the crowd. Ya I agree htc do produce better phones and sure nokia does.

E7 is designed as the next communicator after E90, it had been designed to meet the needs of early smartphone adopters and their need is totally irrelevant from android or iphone users. They don't spend time in facebook our twitter (I'm sure most of them won't be having a facebook account even), they don't need the fancy animations, they can't use the on screen qwerty. Communicators were devices designed with larger screens even before htc jumped into screen size race or touch screens were used in mobiles like today, those screens were made large not to view images or videos, they were designed to produce better browsing experience and better office editing experience. Nokia use N97's sliding mechanism to get rid of the dual screen concept of communicators and it works fine enough and I found many E90 users praising that mechanism (after all they are the target users of E7) The target user of E7 will never have your view points and their need can only be met with symbian or windows mobile, not windows phone seven, android or iOS. N97 is not a communicator and nokia's real challenge for E7 is satisfying it's target user to live up with a touch centric os (it's better to note here windows mobile had both touch and non touch os variant) and make them to adopt the stylish design (they will definitely feel E7 is too fancy at first sight).

Get it to mind that E7 is not the device made for you, so you don't have to bother about it. Another common sense is that this place is not about E7 or nokia this is about N8 so don't post irrelevant things here and make an argument to distract people. Post your experience with N8 or if you honestly feel there are better options available than N8 for it's target user group. In that second case you should be aware that you have no experience with the N8 and when people who are users of N8 come up with points against your thoughts try to take it to your mind. Please note N8 is a smart phone, it's not yet a socialized phone (windows phone 7 devices or android with htc sense, motoblur or touch wiz) or a mini-tablet(htc evo 4G, Dell streak or htc desire HD)

She got herlesf a iphone4g instead, but now she is not happy cause somehow her iphone got corrupted and she cant transfer and receive files anymore from her pc. Now she is warning every of my friends not to buy apple products, but thats another story...

One phone should not be used to reflect a whole company. Even other companies had experienced thw 'n97 fiassco' too.

people have such a short memory. I didn't know how i got rid of the n97 the greatest fiasco of all phones with a rate of unsatisfied customers close to a 100%. (the satisfied ones bought it as an epensive brick!). Wake up people, nokia is still surviving on old reputation and ads with no substance whatsoever. They claim a long list of features out of which only few work properly and use the customers as "paying" lab rats to test their products and to provide them with feedback to fix their never ending crashes and bugs!
I mean, what better arrangment could a company dream of than to sell unfinished products? Fool me once shame on u, fool me twice shame on me.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2011me, ifan? You didnt read my post. You think iphone and N8 a... moreIMHO, most of what you posted was wrong

E7 is a loser coz it has the bad keyboard mechanism from N97, and same screen resolution and similar processor and OS to N97. Remember that N97 was a failure already 1.5 years ago, and it was better than E7 (better cam, 32gig, cardslot...). So when N97 was a loser already so long ago, how can a weaker unit be good so long time after? Coz relatively speaking the E7 is much much weaker, compared to the competition at the time of launch. Its the demn same procesor, onli slightly higher clocked, and the OS has gone through cosmetic surgery to look more up to date but is the same outdated symbian on the inside. And 4 inches of 640x360, that is plain ret@rded....'

whats wrong with the e7 slider mechanism? for me i think is the best slider mechanism to use on a mobile, rather than the straight sliding mechanism. And the e7 and n97 runs on the same OS but in another version. Cant get it? e.g the n97 is running on android 1.6 while e7 runs on android 2.2, same os different versions. Is already proven that s^3 is a huge improvement over the super crappy s60v5. The change isn't a mere 'cosmetic surgery'. True processor is still arm11 but it also comes with the same great gpu that nokia currently has right now, the broadcom bcm2727. and a nHD resolution for a 4 inch screen is not too bad? Is pretty adequate if you ask me. why need to make so much noise about it? And for all of this you fail to see the value added features such as built in secure encryption, HDMI port (for projectors), USB OTG (which i think will be very useful), out of the box office document editor for FREE, ovi maps, super nice qwerty and loads more

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2011so if ppl dont like Arm11 and symbian they are all troll? N... moreYour argument is non existant as well. You are only complaining cos on paper the numbers/name of the CPU doesn't attract you. Having used it since last day of september I don't have a single complaint of the resolution or the CPU. Symbian is relatively light compared to Android or iOS, it simply doesn't need as powerful CPU (cos it has more powerful GPU than android phones/iphone). Look at the benchmarks, N8 doesn't really lose to any big names out there.

Personally I rather take an AMOLED screen with lower res than iPhones screen for example. I want to be able to see the clock without having to "light up" the screen like you have to with the iPhone. I'm more than willing to trade some resolution for that if needed. But either way, if the resolution ain't a problem anywhere but on the papers where it merely seems low, why are you complaining?

Your argument is only what you see in the spec sheets.
