in the Htc desire you have an additional qwerty keyboard and additional multi touch imput method... but is much slower when it comes for touch sensivity...
you might like the 16 gb internal memo, but the HTC beats it in RAM's, not a big deal as the N8 can handle about 23 apps (and i mean really heavy apps) because his hardware are really good...
you will probably find a great advantage with nokia N8 where it comes to GPS because of the free navigation from nokia... believe my words... these ones are great... and the usb on the go and 3.0 bluetooth... these stuff are awesome!!!
camera.. no talking, N8 beats the shit out of every phone out there!!! 12mp i mean hell!!! and 720p video, that is great!!!! ok, desire is good with 5, but nthg like the N8!!!
in the operating system, one just can't talk about them, it come to how you think.. i like symbian, others like android, what can you do?!
you have one more thing in nokia N8, the anodized aluminium casing, very beautiful and resisting....
battery about the same, but the Htc is much much more money.. there is about 200$ difference right now...
my final recommandation.. nokia N8... the best in here!!!!!

Bought N8 on 13th dec this month,not even start to use it aft charge and keep restart by itself so have to send to service ctr,and it still sitting in service ctr awaiting for motherboard to arrive to change it...why nokia QC are so poor nowadays,and cant even do a replacement even thou the motherboard is faulty..really disappointed with nokia service..hopefully they can do something bout it nor sooner or later more people will turn to other brand.

seriously... dumbdroid may have all the games but could you use all of them?. about 14,000 you download in a single day you could only play 5 games atm.

for future n8 owners, i think u should put a stop on the purchase until new firmware is out. if it is fine, then consider about it again or else wait for Meego to be released. just to give some suggestion to save ur money.

I was talking about the ID3 tag here, which contains the data of the song, such as song name, artist, album name, track number, year released, length etc. You can change (edit) the tag in mp3 format, wma format. I said that in N8 you can't. If you change your songs ID3 according to the song, the details are shown in the screen when you play the song.

I have found a few things about N8. Please note that these things are minor problems to me, but might be a bigger problem for some people.
1. N8 CANNOT change the song details from inside. You have to edit the ID3 tags outside the phone & then copy them into N8.
2. N8 CANNOT create new equaliser presets in music player. Though I don't miss it much, but for some people it might matter.
3. When you are browsing the file manager, if you quickly press the camera shutter button halfway, the search option pops up. This was a good idea of NOKIA. I even didn't find it in anywhere, so I though I should share it with you guys.
