You people always complain about symbian using only 600MHZ processors. Well look at the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. It uses the older version of Symbian (S60 5th edition). It stil has over 700MHZ processor. Meaning that symbian can support higher CPU. But they don't need to because it is a battery friendly and light operating system. What matters in using symbian is the GPU.

Jus got my n8 great phone and so far no problems.. Pure value for money. My question is the camera is set to 9mp default and when i change it to 12mp it doesn't cover the full screen. In terms of detail to my eye i don't see any difference in these two settings so perhaps some1 can guide me which setting is best and also y nokia choose 9m as default when it has 12mp? I want the best pic settin and quality for my pictures so which 1 do i use

N8 is here to stay in the market unlike N97 which was phased out from the market ever before it could have celebrated its first birthday. We may continue to see N8 even after unreleased N9 as latter will run on meego. N8 is the last N-series running on symbian and all future will run on meego (until they find something better than that of course). But for the time being, N8 is my man.

i think that the n8 is the best phone around, and can't be compared with the htc phones, any screen bigger than 3.5" will be too much to handle easily, you probably will need to get a case for it!!!
and the cam is excellent!!! i can't see what do you need more?! a processor dedicated for the multitasking, and the 3d accelerator is used to run the software, so its enough of speed even for a symbian..
it is not like any other phone around that will blow your mind for a couple of days then you will throw it out of the window, this phone will blow your mind at each second you have in your hands...
plus, the freezing and restarting are presented in only some phones, about 5000 pieces out of 2.5 million sold, and, from a nest year they will be fixed in the second batch nokia N8.. this thing is incredible!!!!
Nokia came back from the dead!!!! and if it keeps it acceleration upword like this.. they will soon blow everyone out of their socks!!!!

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2010can smebody tell me...how to add map of india to the phn...... morehi there.yes u can use ofline mode as well.and u can download from nokia ovi suit but if u got letest 3.6v map then u can down load it from ovi map strait in to ur mobile.remember al nokia n8 got 3.6v but only some of them saport ovi map download strait in to ur phone.is option in phone like download in map section.if u havnt got that option then u have to try ovi map from ovi suit.

sagar, 19 Dec 2010HI guys I m thinking to buy cool handset. but i've confused... moreif you need htc you must buy the latest htc desire HD ( not the old hd2 ) with processor 1ghz or the upcoming HD3 with processor 1.5 ghz 1 gb ram , but i think nokia is more public and the n8 is closer to desire HD in hardware and has many specs (processor 1.1ghz with 3dgraphic accelerator, 256 ram 512 rom 16gb built in internal memory , 12 mp camera , fm transmitter,noise cancellation microphone,tv out,wifi,aluminium casing not plastic) so you can find nokia softwares and technicians everywhere while htc is for specific people

HI guys I m thinking to buy cool handset. but i've confused betn htc HD2 and n8. N8 hav 12 mp cam and HD2 hav 4.3 inch display and can be booted to android 2.2 froyo. plz help me out. opinion of People who hav used both hansets are most considerable.Thanx

Nokia N8 is the best on Hardware. But
couldn't meet the expectations of User on UI.
Lets see what Nokia can offer when Meego comes eventually.

used the n8 of my fren's a couple of times...its really fast for a symb...but sometimes it freezes and shuts off...and restarts again...why is tat...does anyother n8 user got this problem...otherwise crazy phony..keeps ur hands full and great touch and not as boring as the apple...

the next meego flagship will probably combine n8 and n900
n900 is amazing in os
n8 is amazing is hardware
bring some of the useful apps to ovi store
like yahooo im, yahoo flickr, google talk, vlc etc
