Anonymous, 19 Dec 2010and you have one? i presume you have nothing at allI sold n8 which I got from contract with carphone and bought iph4. I wish I signed ip4 in the first place. I mainly use smartphone for internet on bus and original iph served me well. This N8 performed even worse than original iph fr 2007!!!! Nokia should die soon!!!!

Please buy samsung wave or moto defy if ip4 cost u alot. This ph is worst ever and I'm stuck with 24months contract now.

I just got it now, must say it is the best N model ever made. Wery happy with mine.

Positives are good build and call quality.
2-3 days battery life with moderate use.
Hardware unbeatable.
Price sim free good value compared to IP4
Negs:
Browser sluggish
Wifi has tendency to keep coming on, even after you have just turned it off - this happens to mine and I have read other opinions about this issue on Nokia site.
Nokia are bringing out a large firmware update that address these issue and also include big changes that can only improve what is a very good device already.
Overall, I recommend you get one!

i have my nokia n8 since october 23 here in Manila, Philippines. I'm the 34th over thousands who pre-ordered it. Since then, i love the phone. It froze less than 5 times since then,restarted 3 or 4 times. I didnt bother because its has a pre-release software. Nokia promised an update this december.
I like everythng abwt the ph0ne..and i bought it because of its CAMERA. It is hailed as the 'best cameraphone to-date' it has the LARGEST CAMERA SENSOR in m0bile ph0ne, XEN0N FLASH,and not an 'outdated LED' hdmi,usb on the go,am0led display, and the FREE NAVIGATI0N!
I dropped the phone twice and its like new,n0thing happens.
Wht i don't like about n8 is the traditi0nal on-screen keypad,i want a qwerty keyboard in landscape m0de! Laggy browser! That's all.
Iph0ne has 300,000 or m0re apps coz there a lot MISSING in the iphone! Example. Radio application,VIA wifi.hahaha.everythng is via wifi.like video calls.hahaha. Whereas in N8,it is built in and uses 3G! N8 can manage to transfr files via bluetooth,hw abwt d iph0ne?haha.
Iph0ne is useless without JAILBREAKING.

Fresh fr0m the b0x, n8 cn do m0re.hu cares abwt retina display. I got a 20-20 visi0n,and i see things perfctly even in a small screen like the n0kia 8310 b4.
C0mpare the functi0nalities of the ph0ne fresh fr0m d b0x. Coz d0wnloading apps is a user-based ch0ice..
Cn s0me0ne here,d0wnloaded atleast 1,000 apps in the 'app store?' hahaha.and st0res all of it in their iph0ne?haha.

It's a nice gadget outside (good aluminium housing...that's it)
The camera is not as expected, doesn't match the sony ericsson satio or samsung pixon 12 camera.
Just a waste of money.
I'll never buy a Nokia phone (symbian OS is outdated)
it's away behind iOS or android and the new WP7 is much better too.

nokia i would suggest you to make a small change in the os to help me and a lot more users in usa. i want to be able to type fast on my nokia n8 both ways vertical and horizontal with a virtual querty keyboard. make a small change and i will enjoy more this phone! the camera is very good, the build quality is good too, the battery life is not bad, overall it needs some os improvement!
