Have been using the N8, mine's silver btw, for over a month now. I can honestly say that it is a very good device indeed. Photos and HD video are simply superb. HD games are absolutely perfect. Web browsing with Opera 10.1 is nice (hopefully Nokia updates the native browser as well). Mail synchronization is simply perfect! Free Ovi Maps is a must. And i also like the music player and the FM transmitter. So indeed i got what i wanted from the device:
* Superb camera;
* Godd web browsing w Opera;
* Very good mail sync;
* Superb drive by instructions w Ovi Maps;
* Superb music playback;
* Superb build quality of the device;
On the negative side the Symbian 3 is not as polished (touch and feel) as the rivals, Android and iOS, especially iOS. I sincerely hope that Nokia has enough sense to put every bit of effort to updating the UI, because everything else is simply amazing. But still, good work Nokia for bringing this beautiful device to the market. Hope you will update the Symbian's UI as well!

I really love this phone ! I will go to the nokia care but I dont want to replace it I will tell them to repair itz speaker ! Some things r really annoying like,only 2 or 3 good themes r there in ovi store ! Can any1 tell me how to sign the games ? Have u got the sis file when u downloaded REAL FOOTBALL 2010HD from ovi ?

That means that the red and blue resolutions are actually 400x480. Worse than N8. Only the green color has 800x480 resolution. On N8, like on most displays, the resolution is the same for all colors.
If you do the math you can get 417 subpixels per inch for Galaxy S and 558 subpixels per inch for N8. A significant difference. For example E7 with 4 inch display will still have 488 subpixels per inch. E7 will also have BCD, which if you read GSM display review, is easy to argue is better than SAMOLED as a technology too.

how come 360x640 resolution(N8) be better than that of Galaxy S's 480x800 ????
Small battery,small display,heavier than galaxyS,just a bigger camera with outdated symbian OS.
AMOLED displays may be difficult to view in direct sunlight compared to LCD displays. Samsung's Super AMOLED technology addresses this issue by reducing the size of gaps between layers of the screen.

dr.., 11 Dec 2010has anyone inserted memory card,if yes 1. how much memory ... morei have 16gb microSDHC class 4 with fully loaded of 40 movies with no hang and laggy 284MB remaining, and my built in memory is fully loaded of thousand of songs 800MB remaining no hang and laggy, my n8 is fully loaded and its works fast and responsive. Dont buy class2 memory card. if you buy a micro SDHC class 4 and class 6 only support for n8....

too many people lie here , someone says 50 mb game lags , what nonsense yesterday i downloaded 150mb golf , its smooth , nfs is smooth , gtr is smooth ! not a single game lags , i have some 4 hd games now , i tried all , 3 games were simultaneously open and still it didn lag a bit , must say n8 multi tasking is awesome !!! android and iphone still not as good as mt as n8

Other games run quite well actually. Is all due to the laziness of gameloft developers in porting those games to the symbian^3 platform.

you still dont understand do you? taking a screen shot is like taking a picture of whats on the display but from the phone itself. So no matter what screen a device has, the screenshot remains the same. unless you meant taking a picture of the screen using a camera, it wont make a damn difference
