1. uncomparable UI - android is still not that good (atleast i feel so)
2. music quality is really good
3. screen is mind blowing
N8 adv:-
1. uncomparable camera
2. OTG support - you can hook up a pen drive to it
3. hdmi + 5.1 dolby digital support for driving external displays
4. free navigation - without gprs
5. true multi-tasking

symbian doesn't need alot of ram and clockspeed to run
680mhz with alot of ram which is has now runs just as fast as a 1ghz with 512mb RAM or just alittle slow but it's still really fast

N8 has just 256 MB Ram.. gives memory full errors quite often!
furthermore, many people have reported bug in it! Even nokia itself has confirmed that this cellphone has hardware related bugs!

Jim78, 07 Dec 2010@vijay : Go for N8, cause it has so much more to offer than... morethanks jim78 but how is the speed compare to iphon? i thing iphone i\has 512 ram and 1ghz processor where as n8 having 600mhz processor and 256 ram....some one told me toucj of iphone is uncomparable and u eill go mad by listning music of i phone ............so i m bit confuze and his talk is also tru that ipnoe has mastery in music and status wise is also nice,,,i m still confuzed my friend...suggest some better feature than iphone in N8....

Not all are problematic. I have friends that have this phone too and theirs work just fine. My current one is awesome going 3 weeks now. Must have been my dumb luck with the other:)

The phone displays the pics slightly smaller though on the phone were as the 9mp setting displays across the entire screen. The difference is when you display the pics on a pc. 12mp is awesome. The detail when you zoom in is incredible. I've taken plenty pics with this phone and it has just impressed me in every picture. 9mp as i said was suffice for me at work cos the pics are too large on the 12mp setting for the documents i put them into. Still at 9mp the pics are big but i just compress them to decrease the doc size. For my personal pics 12mp is a must.

If i gave you an answer would you actually follow it.
Questions like this are pointless, a bit like the X factor the phones specs can be compared using the something or other function.
This is the Nokia N8 forum so whilst 99.999% will say Nokia N8. I am going to be bold ina answering.
As you are undecided and need our help i'm gonna tell you what my mother would tell me in a situatiojn like this GET BOTH NOKIA N8 & S8500 YES TRY BOTH OF THEM! AND THEN MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND WHICH YOU PREFER.
99.999% will say Nokia N8 but they are just biased they are looking at the specifications (WOW), and clicking on that button that bring up another phones specs and coming to a final decision.
Its like ice cream try them both and then decide. I am just glad you got it down to 2 mobiles

I always go for the max resolution so with each mobile 1.3 MP to 3.2MP to now 5MP never 640x480 so I might take a couple @12MP then go to 9MP

I work for a phone company in Iceland and have experience with lots of phones. I'm very! pleased with the performance and features of my N8, not to mention the quality of the camera and video recorder :)

sammi, 08 Dec 2010help me...N8 i'm the only 1 so unlucky.... only 1day, my... moreOops! visit to the Nokia gallery directly with your purchase proof... they give 2 yrs warranty... ask them to exchange with the new one... first be soft while speaking with them but if they don listen then u better know what to do with them... They r actually aware of all this issues.. Or Ask ur dealer to exchange it with another same model or refund the money...Be tough while speaking....
