But i still dont understand why many (if not all) people are pushing the n8 up against the iphone4 and top android phones.

Pls look at other people, but dont target me. I bought the n8 cause it had almost all of the features i need and it was within my budget (wave was a no go for me).
My explanation could also be applied to other fanboys, not just nokia fanboys ;)

Nokia-fans are even more fanatic than apple-fans, but they often do not have enough money to be an apple-fan and that makes them even more fanatic nokia-fans.
N8 have great hardware, but Symbian still really totally sucks. N8 with Android and 480 x 800 pixels would be a real winner, maybe best phone ever, but with Symbian N8 dies and can not compete against IPhones or the top Androids.

internet is connecting automatically everytime !
Want to disconnect it !
Solution- go to setting>connection
manager>keep pressing on d connected access
point and dissconnect it !
Go to setting>connectivity>setting> data use in home network=always ask ! Data use when
roaming=always ask !

I tried to compare my N8 and my N82 xenon, it seems that the xenon flash on N82 give the right amount of brightness, a little better than N8.

Yes Nokia N8 is great phone, have great hardware @ rate of that, I like it so much,
but problem is software,
1. why Nokia not gives the options for the upgradation, like andriod, and Bada (Once newer version come, can update), only to cheat people and they forced to buy new symbian 4 phone, why?
2. It superb phone but why they provide only 680 Mhz processor, not 1 Ghz, so its become in after few months unusable, and than buy Nokia N9.

Hi All,
I own an N8 Phone, i liked the phone really smartphone.
My Question is When i take a snap in my N8, the photo appears to be too bright, is there a setting which has to be chnaged, as its flash it too bright, my snaps are very brighter, when i switchoff the flash and try then the snap would not look that gr8...
Can sumone help me provide me the camers setting if anything has to be set right pls

Yes its bad, approximately twice as slow as the 1 year old N900, and why?? Why could N900 have a decent processor a year ago and N8/E7/X7 cant have now, a year later?
Because Symbian will not run on anything newer then Arm11. N900 has Linux, the limitation in processors didnt apply. Symbian on Cortex or Snapdragon will cause software issues that will require recompiling everything, and since codepaths cannot be incorporated then it would require separate versions of all apps.
A Snapdragon symbian phone would have exactly zero available apps.

Can we edit word and excel files in Nokia N8. If not then is there any software available in market which can be downloaded to Nokia N8 to enable to edit word and excel files.

Ok, im a proud owner of one N8. At first i was a bit confused, since everyone seems to be going crazy about Android. But now, after using the N8, im really, really happy with the purchase. A few examples, i used my friends HTC Desire and the build quality is just not on parr with Nokia or Apple, since there are these minor details that started bothering. My other friend has Samsung Galaxy S and he's having problems with GPS. Like WTF, when i buy Nokia i take for granted that everything works perfectly and the build quality is simply SUPERB and with N8 it is in fact. Yes, Symbian 3 is not perfect, but i am absolutely certain that Nokia is taking all measures to make Symbian 3-s UI much better than it is today. Otherwise, a perfect gadget.
