[deleted post]N8 is NOT a good phone and it can NOT compete with the top Android phones. Symbian3... is completely useless and even Nokia admits that, and if MeeGo was ready they would not use Symbian on any "flagship-model". N8 have serious hardware-problem.
We "hate" N8 because Nokia-fans try to compare it with far better phones, and their lies about N8-perfection makes many buyers waste money on buying it.
N900 is/was a great phone, and unfortunatly N900 still is the best phone Nokia have ever made. N97 and N97 mini was probably the worst phones ever, and without the rather good camera and the still mostly pointless but unique USB-on-the-GO N8 would be just is bad as N97, but the fatal hardware-problems on N8 could still make N8 the worst phone ever if it turns out to be more than "just a few" phones that have this problem.

the n8 does not have a led video light it only has a red video light if your have a led video light thats awsome the n8 has a board problem what a shame

guys i am having a problem with this set.. Sometimes when i switch off and switch on the set and call people from my contact list their names and photos is not displayed.. Only their number is displayed.. Then after swtching off and on several times it becomes normal. All my contacts are in phone memory..
Guys please tell me is this problem is with my set only or anyone else has noticed this problem.. Otherwise my set is working fine.. Kindly help me out please.. Thanx in advance....

To All N8 haters stop judging,
YES N8 it has major hardware problem, but nokia will changed a new n8 in case have problem...
N8 is the best..
1.) 16gb internal memory + expandable microsdhc 32GB
2.) FREE GPS voice and guide road map all over the world.
3.) USB OTG-> use mouse,keyboard,usb drive transfer file.
4.) 12MP camera with xenon flash, i want clarify it gsmarena not mentioned said n8 has no videolights? but nokia phillippines website it said it has videolights.
5.) Aluminum body, Gorilliaz Glass.
N8 haters Are jealous? All i mentioned about n8 features you cant see in other brand..
N8 is very affordable price compared to galaxy S,htc,iphone4.. N8 its very complete features... for only 23,699peosos here in the phillippines.
So N8 haters if want that all amazing spec and features of n8 go and buy it now..
mine i will buy this next month december 20....

Generally I don't jump into every other review I found on my favorite device but Absolon is one of those who tells what a device really is, bad or good.
He is a brilliant reviewer and he has got N8 to show off and you will see how excited he is. Not full review but a good preview of the device.

I have recently bought NOKIA N8 & facing very unusal problem with the set. The new handset is not receiving incoming calls from local fixed land line for some gsm network provider where as we been able to call on particular local fixed land line from this handset . Apart ALL other mobile calls been receiving & outgoing along with all std ,isd mobile & fixed land line are ok in this new set(NOKIA N8).
Now since I using this handset on that particular network where i need to receive lots of local calls from fixed line but now its been difficult ever since i change my usual sim on this new handset (NOKIA N8).pls give us proper solution if any,

These are the things that might never happen in mobile world:
1. HTC - making a good multimedia mobile
2. Nokia - Dumping Symbian
3. SE - releasing a phone with latest available OS version
4. Moto - Catching up with trend
5. LG - Having a look on whats happening out there in the smartphone world
6. Samsung - understanding the meaning of after sales support
7. Apple - accepting that people who use mobiles have brains as well

The phone spec is great... However the OS is so buggy. I would say the software is at Beta still.
Some functions are not even working as expected, such as "Do Not Save Sent SMS". It just didnt work :(
The only thing good about the phone is the camera. It is more of less at compact digital camera level.
Hopefully new software updates will be available soon to get things turn around.
