It can:
- make and receive calls/texts/mms
- take decent photos
- take decent videos
- browse the internet, although it isn't the best smartphone on the market for this; far from it
- guide you anywhere in the world with its' GPS navigation, absolutely FREE OF CHARGE, as the world's map can be downloaded on its' memory
- accommodate an extra 32 GB of memory, which is very useful if you're gonna download worlds' entire map (about 12GB) and if you're not gonna delete anything for an entire year but take loads of pictures and videos
- turn into a WiFi hotspot with the help of a nifty little application called JoikuSpot (10 euros for the premium edition, if u wanna password protect your wi-fi)
- work with any USB pendrive without the use of a computer, as long as the pendrive is formatted as FAT32
- connect to any bluetooth, and with an application called 'carmode' you have a perfectly safe way to use the handsfree system of your car, use the phone as a navigation unit and play music, at the same time
- track your workouts, whatever they are, with the help of many applications like: Sports Tracker, Endomondo, Barbell Gym
- view and edit any office file; Quickoffice is great for that;
- use a RSS feeder application like Horus for fast newspaper reading through
It can also
- wake you up in the morning
- show and maybe even tell you what the time is
- play all your favorite youtube movies; even download the ones you love the most with Fasttube
- find the nearest McDonalds, toilet, pharmacy, atm, hotel
- remind you to keep your appointments
However, it does not
- clean or cook for you (or replace your girlfriend/wife in any other way)
Sure it does a hole lot of other stuff, some of them better than most smartphone, most worse than others.
But what I find it does best, is take a lot of hits on the ground, many of them quite bad ones, maybe loose 2 or 3 grams of weight by getting chipped on the sides, but still keep working as good as it can for that entire day of battery life!

When i connected to chager it says high power chager.it was the original one.but now im using another nokia chager,but its output was 350mah.want to now will it be a problem

Still love the Nokia N8 thinking of getting another one. The updates and so on i can do with it, its like my own P.A in my pocket. Hope To see Nokia Dont change the looks on newer N8 series.

I really like my Nokia N8. The camera is superb and synchronising on OVI Nokia suite is also very good. There is an app that allow to transfer music and radio live streams onto my ordinary FM car stereo.
There is however, so it seems, a common fault with the socket for the micro usb charger. It seems that after some time this socket gets faulty and it the becomes impossible to recharge the phone. O2 repaired it for me twice, but the third time it went, they declined and blamed me for it. I now got an iPhone, but I'm still missing my Nokia N8

Oky, 11 Jun 2013if you said so then my love story with n8 probably will las... moreApart from the bigger screen, better internet browsing,and the games .... belive me nokia n8 is much better than the galaxy s4 .... the s4 disappointed me regarding the tv out (very important to me) and in gps navigation .... don't know why nokia not supporting video chatting in skype (a big drowback of nokia) do u belive that caller name isn't working in arabic ... and it only only say (call from) still loving nokia n8 (I gave it to my wife)

MdN, 17 Jun 2013I hacked my N8 and installed MobileCleaner and RscCleaner..... moreif u have hacked it u can also get free memory in C drive upto 241Mb as well, and it does works really good, u can get alphanumeric keyboard in Windows, Android and iOS as well
