I got new nokia n8 on contract but having problems, it restarts itself and would not turn on. Am i the only one having this problem?

I used to have an n82, but this n8 is everything i wanted the n82 to be; larger screen, super fast interface, smooth movie playback, fast gps interface (you can still use Garmin just dl latest s60 v), fantastic camera, high build quality.
One thing I didn't think about when i got the phone was how fast the gaming processor is. It is very very fast! the game quality is over NFS porsche unleashed! ... also, Summile is working on a psx emulator for it!
Also, the USB should be able to use a gamepad in the future! for all the SNES / NES / PSX games. there cannot be a n64 emulator for it tho :(.
The ovimaps honestly doesn't work that good offline (lacks points of interests and fails to find long distances) but garmin xt works great.
The touch interface is smooth and fast and logical. This is not a 'pretty' phone like the iphone or the android, but in my opinion, function will far surpass the kiddy looks any day.
Nokia did a great job with this phone. The only reason there are so many people who hate on the symbian is because there is something 'different' out there. Seems more like a 'fad' to me though.
But ya, a completely unbiased opinion when i say that this phone is incredible, and with nokia's reputation for support, the interface (which is great already) will only get better!

what so unreal with n8 price? I think so far the most unreal price phone is iphone. We choose n8 bcoz know it best for us,just take ur sammy wavy phony out of here. :-)

i dont know why you people love nokia? nokia is only brand name for old glory, nothing more! today nokia is big looser overall it's true! for 2-3 years, samsung be leader for all competition nokia dying, slow, but die... fair for me is: stronger and better must lives older and slower must dies! just look price for N8! it's unreal! you must pay "old glory" brandname, not quality and not trendy! i am not fan for any phone, just real customer! i need cheap, fast and useful!

if you know chinese character, use baidu input keyboard which should be made preinstallled in asian market n8 out of the box, portrait qwerty and excellent chinese wrting experience

no buddy! for me NOT NOKIA AGAIN!!! Few days ago, I am bought Samsung Wave... I am now PROUD Samsung FAN! For only 250 euros i have briliant and fast phone with NO FREEZE, gorges display, small wight, metal body, LED flash and GREAT video and battery! I have 50 and more installed apps on phone, tools, games, utilities, etc... Do you know what is Nokia??? NOTHING!!! NOKIA IS HISTORY!!! I SMASH N8 of the wall after a few days freeze-frustrations!!!

My N8 keeps cutting off during calls and I initially thought I was cutting them off with my ear too, but the phone seems to be crashing. It seems to keep doing it, today it was at least 8 times and that was including when I wasn't even using it. This is really annoying!!

Nokia has come out with its best phone ever N8 claiming with its amazing features.
Recently I purchased one piece of N8 yesterday & unfortunately had a little disappointing experience with that as below.
1. Battery back up is not sufficient specially when U GPS on (Battery is permanently fixed/not detachable).
2. Symbion 3 Web browser & GPS are not so smart & not user friendly too.
3. Hanging out several times specially when GPS is on & with multiple applications.
4. Some of its applications & web browsing are little slow.
The one & only good feature with this is its 12MP camera with Carl Zeiss lense really make U very happy but again lack of optical zooming may make U to feel unhappy.
Accessing flash memory through it & HDMI port for HD TV connectivity also may add little cheer to your experience.
Please share your experience, if U also planning to buy one.

Damn, I'm SO glad to hear views of others regarding how BAD the N8 is!!! I thought I was the only one having problems! I brought mine and had to return it co's SYMBIAN IS $HITE! It's Notorious for freezing...resetting and switching itself off! This CRAP has more bugs than what my garden has! H ad it 3 days and the faults keep reocurring! I know Iphone has BAD signal but no point having a DAMN STUPID phone if it decides to turn off without you knowing! I USED to be a die hard nokia fan but seriously you Nokia people....wake up to reality! I've now switched to Blackberry! BB rocks all the way!

If you really don't like the Nokia browser then use Opera Mobile 10, though that doesn't support multi-touch and thats even more annoying.

i myself owe nokia 5800 and trust me when i used Iphone 3gs , only then i realized how much shit was i using all this while… android and iOS Rocks… and nokia is not even close… They really need to change the OS or they will loose the high end market. As of now i wont buy Nokia N8 even if its offered at half the price… and once i was die hard fan of symbian.. :)
