Contact your Service provider and ask to sms you the internet settings. After you receive the sms open and save. Then use the new access point to connect to the net. As simple as that :-)

    i need help guys, trying to log in to facebook via "social" it keeps giving me the message " unable to connect to gateway, please try again later" any idea about the problem?

      Actually the N8 is the only Pentaband cell in the world ! ! ! What that means is - it will work anywhere!

        AWA, 28 Oct 2010can someone tell me the difference between Nokia N8 USA ver... morethe US runs on a different frequency and it will not have the settings for the NZ networks

          Well, I won't call it a bug though. ALL the other phones on the market have the 'Bug' then, because non can do what the N8 does. OK, it only works at full zoom but at least it works ! Another thing is, I see there is a patch for the N8 if you want continuous focus while in video rec mode. However then you have the same issues the Samsung Galaxy S has with pictures been out of focus while the camera adjusts from one scene to another do to different depth of view. So, there you have it, N8 is the best all arouder (for now)

                    i am a proud owner of this amazing nokia n8 . I have been modding it from scratch and now it works like a charm! way to go symbian 3!

                    only 2 disappointments :

                    camera even though 12megapix.. the autofocus doesnt work well unlike my other sony ericsson camera which works way better . indoor pics would suck if one would use xenon flash.

                    other than that .. for the cheap price . i would recommend you to get it.

                    Also you would enjoy the FM transmitter function which allows you to play music from your N8 through your car's audio system.

                      I have had the N8 for about 2 weeks now and this morning the entire phone just shutdown by itself and it doesn't even response to the reboot function. Big disappointment for the N8. The Symbian 3 OS is very buggy and apps sometimes hang without any reason.

One question though, what exactly is the problem with the photo/video browser! And i think typing should'nt be a problem because the keys are big enough on landscape mode. On portrait mode the keys will be very small, and hence a high chance that you'll make errors. What say you!

                                      Hi..I am using the N8 2 weeks now...my phone does not reboot on its own...and does not switch off...but yeah theonly glitch i face is that sometimes it connects to the GPRS services on its own...even when the widgets are in offline mode...
