Dwane, 22 Oct 2010Why is that if someone does not praise the this phone blind... moreDwane, Don't mind those who just oppose any comment that says Nokia is bad or N8 is bad.
Keep sharing your experience like you have done so far, This will really help us and also me who wants to own an N8 soon. Honest comments are really rare on a highly viewed website like this. You have even posted the you tube links, which say that you really had a problem.
Yeah and also like you said , some phones have crashed and some have not, Maybe some have been defective pieces and were released in a hurry and missed certain testing standards. You should check with the Nokia care centre, before taking a hasty decision and going for another phone!

[deleted post]Not all people are sick like you,but normal people use flash light for still images and video (if available) to improve picture quality ,try by yourself to capture a still image in low light condition with and without the use of the flash and you will notice the big differnce ,the same applies to video recording.

I was thinking of the HTC desire but hear that the battery don't last a day, or the new (bulkier) Desire Z.
I'm open to suggestions...
I need a solid decent speed operating system and UI that don't crash often.
A decent 5mp minimum camera, with flash.
Good internet/email with pinch zoom etc.
Sat nav.
A days worth of battery.
Good apps
Good screen up to 3.7"

I like nokia and have defended and supported nokia for ages as all my phones in the past have been Nokia (I owned the N95 8gb before the N8, and the n80 before that and many inbetween that -going right back to the 5110!).
But I won't follow any brand unquestionably regardless of performance. I want a good fully working phone that suuits my need, I thought only Nokia could do this but since my problems after such a long wait I have been forced to look elsewhere.

[deleted post]Hey chill mate, his unit is just faulty. He is a n8 owner who is just expressing his experience with his unit, which is what this forum is for. Unlike some people here who come here and promote other phones and trolling here and there

Dear users/experts kindly clarify my doubt.. Does the N8 battery is exchangeable.. Once the battery life is gone after a yr use means, can we able to change the battery like other nokia phones or else the mobile has to be changed.. Kindly clear it.. Thanx in advance..

Gitty, 22 Oct 2010Theres no antenna issue :D It can b a network problem ! Tha... moreI have justed tested that antennae issue on the N8 that I am sending back today and yes the signal does drop when held sideways in that way. But not all the way so it would not drop calls, plus you wouldn't hold your phone that way when on a call anyway so there really is no issue there.
