This phone was also not designed to take on the likes of the iPhone or Androids. It was instead designed to be different and unique. It was designed to provide a step change while still being competitive. Other OS's are ahead. Symbian are not dead. The ^4 would close that gap very soon, sorry they should be on par with others. Meego would be your killer. Go invest in those OS's. Mee...go to Meego. For now i want a phone for ease of life thats fit for daily use and integrates with LIFE. Eye candy is not called integration into your life. It is for show offs. After the hype dies, so does the lust for the phone. This phone wouldnt cos of the life style integration.

THis phone will not be outdated aftrr iphone 5 announcement, because t he its camera isfar more advanced

Umm,i will definitely buy the silver 1...But the thing is,I am actually bit confused between N8 & HTC Desire HD...U knw wht I've always been a nokia user (6600,N91,now N96)..So I wanted a new OS & UI with more powerful CPU...But I'm disappointed with these old features of N8...On the other hand,HTC don't give any warranty in our country,& it's battery life is pretty bad for a 4.3 inch screen.... My head is totally jammed dude,I am really puzzled about wht 2 do.... Anyway thanks a lot for ur information.... Have fun with ur N8...

The blogs just say so because they thought that 'hey, a 12mp phone from nokia, so it must be a flaship phone!' And the specs sheet does not say that the n8 is a high-end phone, ask any UNBIASED phone expert and he/she will say that the n8 is not a high end phone, but more of a higher middle-class phone.

[deleted post]The x10 might be better for you but it is not for me. IMHO that is. I need a good camera and the n8 can fulfill that. The HDMI port and the USB OTG feature aso is unique to nokia phones and i find it very useful. I'm not persuaded by the android eye-candy cause i know that Symbian OS is a mature platform and the Symbian^3 has improved alot from the previous symbian versions. Double clicking has been greatly reduced, it is now open (unlike the previous Symbian^1), the coding now uses QT which reduces the amount of time and money spent on creating an app. Why in malaysia, i dun see that many android phones around (based on my experiences that is) compared to nokia phones, both smartphones and feature phones. U shud go for the X10 if you think that is better than the N8, and i will go for the n cause i think it is better than the X10. Ok?

hakeem, 18 Oct 2010i have been using this pone for 3 days. i am quite dissapo... morehi hakeem, dont worry im sure nokia will issue an updated fw soon. thats what happen usually with other nokia phones too. go slow on trasferring d musics,pics videos etc dont do bulk transfer. let the ram get use to your trend of usage. btw how much u bought it in RM? thanks n cheers

I'm very certain that the n8 is not a flagship phone cause nokia did not announced that. The X10 might be smooth but with outdated version of android (outdated=limited support of apps) and the low QVGA resolution (that is low for a touchscreen phone, and aso limited support of apps), it is better off that you dont compare it to the N8. I'm very comfortable with the Symbian OS right now and i dont plan to change to another OS.

I inquired its Price is Rs.23999/- with taxes and also I see the phone. Available on 3 interest free EMIs

Evryone is bashing N8 coz its slow, laggy, browser issue, pinch zoom, UI, etc and another new thing is mid range phone even though u all bloddy bunch of baboons compairing it to ur ishit, fruitberry, samsunga, htc.
Its nokia forum....why you bother. I intend to spend my money on this so called mid-end phone what's ur problem.
Ishit & fruitberry cant even transfer data to other mobile via bluetooth but still its a high end phone.
Samsunga, the ultimate cheap plastic, so strong that it can be compared to alumnized body of N8, right bashers?
Htc, buy one get one free, like buy a HTC u will get a dinner plate free
If u dont like N8 dont buy it why u discouraging others. grow up......

snonre, 18 Oct 2010Did you just realized that all the phones u mentioned just ... morein my regard nokia n8 is not a high end phone but nokia has launched n8 as a high end mobile n their flagship mobile n u r wrong in it n this site where we have been typing comments has tried so hard to keep the hype for nokia n8 that it does not deserve n it is nokias flagship mobile n maybe its their best mobile so far but still way way behind other competitors n u know what even mobiles like xperia x10 mini n mini pro perform like a breeze n without any lag.
n yes nokia n8 would be good for nokia as they also have alot of brain washed fans similar to iphone but atleast iphone never lags

Galaxy S and their lags in the early version of their software, not to mention week software support from Samsung. Bada OS and their lack of apps (although now is increasing). The x10 and their outdated android and super late Android 2.1 update. I'm just posting the probs and solutions for the n8 users here seeing how their questions are not answered for a while.
