I am fed up by Galaxy suns continuous comparsion between N8 and galaxy.
Probably if he/she had used all the nokia mobiles that he
mentioned he might not be here with the name ( Galaxy Sun )

[deleted post]There is no problems in expressing your opinions here ;).
But the way you raise your opinion gives a clear hint
that you are here not to raise your opinions.
ie you sound more like samsung marketing team member

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2010To wheez and other experts... I got a n8, its great and ... moreWheez won't be following this thread anymore, so it's useless to ask him. I don't know whether I'm an expert, but I can answer your questions I think! Swype is already available as a public beta in betalabs.nokia.com. You might need to register to download it. And the browser's beta should come in November, and full release is due in February. It's QtWebkit based, and can't be GECKO based like Firefox since Symbian only supports Webkit.

Byron OA, 13 Oct 2010Looks like a really nice phone. I'm sure it can beat an iPh... moreIn some respects it can beat the iPhone 4 apart from the camera. Check out Mobile-Review's comparison between N8 and iPhone 4 camera, u will be surprised who wins!

kmmbd, 13 Oct 2010And when you rush your phones too early it ends up like N97... moreEven i tried N900 , probably its one of the best devices from Nokia aside E72.
N900s greatest advantage is its smooth browsing.

[deleted post]And when you rush your phones too early it ends up like N97, Omnia HD or Iphone 4. FYI the Galaxy S has been in development since the first galaxy device. That makes almost 18 months. And still, Samsung pushed out 2 firmwares just to rectify the lag issue and unusable GPS. Moreover, Samsung don't even have to maintain the Android O.S., google does that. Nokia simultaneously revamped Symbian and at the same time, developed a great phone, so give them the deserved credit. And Symbian might look the same, but inside things are very different. The power management is especially impressive and no other smartphone out there is (relatively) close to it. Also task management has become more efficient. Those are more useful upgrades than a flashy UI IMO. But I agree with you on the Meego part. It is their last chance to get to the high-end, or else it'll be too late. But after using a cooked Meego ROM on my friend's N900, I can say that it's miles ahead of what the competition can offer. The developer community is really strong and they are so friendly, all you need to do is ask politely for an app which is not yet available, and if that app doesn't need any sort of official permission (like a Foursquare app) it'll be ready within weeks. I don't know of any other platform that does this.

Its just a matter of time, some months to get on with the greatest touch screen os... and further more, nokia enjoys a huge developer support as its the oldest and one of the most used smartphone os..
So speed is incredible, an eg is just demonstrated by the hx team...

I guess n8 is a great phone, people say that os is not at par with the others like android, and i do agree, but if they get on any modify everything in the os, users wouldn't be able to use the past applications which were available on previous symbians and would cost them building a whole new app world...
Thats why they started with this, the developers for n8 are utilising their full potential to build new app for the touch screens.. Till then just be with the old and great app world...
