This phone is awesome or should i say symbian^3 is rocks!! Have this for almost a week and so far im really satisfied. Price is also fantastic preorder only $550 on my country. :-)

I live in UAE and earlier today I was asked by "Wheez" about where is my N8 made. I checked mine and it says Finland, and I checked with a friend who also has the N8 from another major retailer and it was from China. So I can tell that, at least for UAE, you have both units, the ones made in Finland and China.
For the speaker quality, I have the 5800 too, the sound quality is almost identical, but the N8 speakers are slightly able to manage the higher volumes without distortion. There is a little distortion in the 5800 when you raise the volume high in a song that has deep bases, this is a bit better in the N8.

Friends & everybody else posting here... Can you please be subjective in your comments, no one is right or wrong about what he/shee feels for a certain model, in order for this to be a useful place to exchange knowledge and experience, please point out things that the rest can understand, no one here can read minds (at least not myself).
Comments like "this is not a good phone", "it doesn't have 1Ghz / 512 RAM" are meaningless unless you tell us your personal experience what does the lack of these items or any other items affect the performance of the device.

May I ask you to put these specifications into a real life meaningful words? What does the information you posted translate into? What does it do?
Appreciate if you could inlighten us on this fact.
If, in my understanding, we use the same concept on computers for example, there are 2Ghz processors up to 3.6Ghz processors, dual to quad, with dedicated graphics cards ranging from 256MB to 4GB. According to your concept, the 2Ghz machine is bad, but this is not a subjective comment as it has to be 2Ghz is bad in rendering architectural animations files (for example).

3 things making N8 'ALMOST' superior -
It's 'Awfully Awesome' camera esp for Xenon flash
It's HDMI port
& It's USB on the go support
I used 'ALMOST' at first because -
I hoped something new instead of old symbian
Also I wished if it had a bit larger screen like 4 inches of E7 or 4.3 of recent HTC sets
And a 1Ghz processor would have made it something from heaven ...
Yet I love this set a lot ... And I'm gonna have 1 definitely... Because whatever anybody say we all know that no set is 100% ... For example HTC Desire HD is an amazing set but it has 8 MP camera with dual-Led flash and internal storage is 1.5 GB .. Now compare this with N8 and U'll see why i said no set is 100%...You just gotta get the one which your mind cherished for,which is your dream set .. And for me it's N8, my mind tells me so... :)

Doesn't really seem to bother the N8, and that's cos it has more powerful GPU than the rest while having weaker CPU.
If you have any real reasons to think this isnt a good phone, I'm all ears, though.

Just go look at benchmarks, N8 doesnt shame the tiniest bit against 1ghz phones. It's cos it has more powerful GPU than the rest. That's why they could "afford" putting in only a 680Mhz CPU (which is underclocked down from 770mhz or so).
Funny enough, while having lesser battery and "omg crappy specs" compared to other phones, it still is equal with them in benchmarks while having just about amongst the best or the best battery life currently on the market.
Stop hugging the specs, it seems to get you nowhere.

Just look at the benchmarks, N8 is very even with those 1ghz phones cos of it's GPU.

not lovin' its processor. only 680mhz clockspeed? is it still acceptable today? last time i heard, there are already phones having 1ghz of processing power? anyone heard of snapdragon? how about apple a4?
