[deleted post]i feel like i am repeating myself all the time but i seem to have to but we all like different phones and for me the n8 is the best all rounder available,the n8 can do eveything all those phones can do yea maybe sometimes a split second slower but the n8 can do many thing those phones can not

Thats GPU AND C... morehey wheez..i read all your posts..by seeing your post only i decided to buy n8 ./i used all the phones but i was still missing something which i was enjoying in nokia products.i am not sure what it is..i hope its the only trustable brand as many as other brands i had ever used till now..i had flaws in all the phones..by the way keep fighting those iphone n android bashers..

A tank may have a much bigger engine than a car, but it can not run faster than a car. Think why? I am feeling educating kids or teenagers.
The hint:
Symbian is a very light optimized OS which uses very little resources. Android is built on VM which is very resource hungry.

n8 preorder in manila already online!! pick up is on oct 23! for only 23K++ and first 800 preorders get a 16gb usb preloaded with episodes of How I Met Your Mother.... To bad only the silver and black variants are available... =/ I was hoping to get the green one...

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2010if evryone said gd about n8, how u decide which phone to buy!!?its not about good or bad..its what u want in a phone..some i need like memory slot which i missed in iphone 4..as i started to get frustrated to use itunes all the time..my needs are different..way back i used n73..sometimes i feel nokia is a trusty brand after i got used to gakaxy s with all those lags and battery. failure.i just come to know that none of the phones are perfect..all hv their flaws ..so i am liking n8 as its a well balanced phone with gr8 features

hello, 09 Oct 2010iphone4 has GPU?It does, together with the CPU. A pretty good one, too.
N8s GPU is different from the CPU and is at least supposed to be more powerful than most integrated (just about every smartphone have integrated CPU/GPU combination) GPUs. This can sort of be confirmed by how well the N8 does against other top notch smartphones in benchmarks even if it has lower CPU frequency than the rest.

The battery is supposed to last at least for 3 years. Normally no sooner than 3 years N8 user does not need to change the battery. Besides, if you really want to change the battery, you can just use a T4 screw driver to open it and change it. It is not a FIXED battery like IPHONE 4.

The N8 supports AV-out from the 3,5mm jack it has plus the HDMI.

The phone has a built in power cut off like in laptops and computers. Holding the power button 8s will cut of all power, equal to taking battery out.
If you need the battery replaced, Nokia Care will do that while you have warranty. After warranty you can get the battery out by opening two screws, but I'm not sure if that would void the warranty if you still havnt ran out of the 2 years by then.
I've personally never met anyone who would carry a spare battery with them, but I guess some people who travel alot might, but meh.

For people wondering whether to buy this not or insecure whether this will be a fail like N97, here are some real user thoughts. It's finnish (Finland has had this since last day of september) so you probably can't undertand it, but you can see the rated stars. 5 stars is naturally the max there.
