Some more interesting news on Nokia N8 competitors. I seems that Apple actually stole their Coverflow and now have to pay 200 Million dollars. Ouch.

Meanwhile, Nokia's media wall uses different technology and is not the same strictly speaking, leaving them out of this.

It is going to fun to see. :)

    N8!

I’ve been following your informative posts for quite a while now and I really appreciate your patience and efforts!

Can you please verify whether the N8 has a native SIP client (stack) built-in? If it supports VoIP natively you should be able to modify settings under “Settings” and then “admin. Settings” (well at least that was the way it was down with previous Nokia phones that supported VoIP).

      Thanks and best regards,

      Marvin

However, the N8 still has amongst the best battery life of all smartphones out there at the moment, even when it has a 1200mAh battery compared to the 1500 of most others.

now try running IOS on 200mhz ,

he meant, that IOS is slower if ran on pair with symbian at the same processor clock speed... i dunno if symbian will defiantly beat Ios if both were 1ghz, i guess it will(but i have a feel its not optimized to run at such speeds :D :D)

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010your comment was accepted till you said iphone os is slow!!... moreWhile I agree, only a complete idiot would claim iOS is slow.

However, Symbian isnt slow either. There's more than just black and white - fastest and slow.

I don't think that Symbian^3 loses much in speed to iPhone 4 if we take the transitions effects away from iPhone, so that you dont get the illusion of speed. iPhone is probably still abit faster, but not all that much.

I'm very happy with the speed of the N8.

the speed of iOS and android is one winning points against the slow symbian .

                              http://fosspatents.blogspot.com/2010/10/android-caught-in-crossfire-of-patents.html

So, not only is the device awesome, you can also be sure the OS will be around in 6 to 12 months, with more and more apps, while there is a very real chance Android will need to disappear.

I'm sure with the Symbian devices rolling out finally (N8, C6-01, C7, E7), we're gonna see alot more apps cos they can be written in Qt which the S^4 and Meego will support as well.

The Handheld Blog, Oct 4:Shootout: Nokia N8 v Canon 550D DSLR:

You know what, forget the iPhone. Lets put the N8 up against some serious firepower, a DSLR which in this case is a 18 Megapixel Canon 550D, fitted with the 18-55mm kit lens. You've seen unedited pictures and video that Iain and I took with the N8 around Edinburgh. However I was also carrying my Canon 550D along and we decided to put the N8 to test and see how it fares against a full blown DSLR, nevermind those pocket point and shoot cameras. The results may surprise.
