Stuntman, 04 Oct 2010Regarding Nokia's battery indicator, I experience something... morePersonally I just experienced this today myself, I naturally didn't watch my cellphone like a hawk, but so far the smallest interval between the full battery and not is at 81%.
Today I was in the library reading a book and I took over 50 pictures with 12 mpix, it took me around 4 hours or so. The whole time the battery stayed at 100% and then I went to get some food and walked home, as I was almost on my front door (15 mins back or so still showed 100%) it said 81%. But I cant recall seeing anything bigger than 81% (apart from 100%, naturally). It's sort of a shame, but you get used to it.

It seems that the battery indicator indicates a full charge until the battery is half drained, then the battery indicator drops quickly. It's as though the Nokia battery indicators are on a logarithmic scale.
As a comparison, I also have a BlackBerry. The BB's battery indicator seems to be on more of a linear scale. I charge the BB once a week and the battery indicator seems to go down by the same amount each day.

[deleted post]Funny how every other comparison shows N8 as shit and every one as superior to most.
The ones that show shit are the sites that have always been against Nokia for whatever reasons. The author of that article is the reason we were waiting the N8 for so long after it was announced, cos eldars preview forced nokia to announce it. It's same with all these sites, Gizmodo, Engadget, Mobile-review..

Some more interesting news on Nokia N8 competitors. I seems that Apple actually stole their Coverflow and now have to pay 200 Million dollars. Ouch.
Meanwhile, Nokia's media wall uses different technology and is not the same strictly speaking, leaving them out of this.
It is going to fun to see. :)
N8!

I’ve been following your informative posts for quite a while now and I really appreciate your patience and efforts!
Can you please verify whether the N8 has a native SIP client (stack) built-in? If it supports VoIP natively you should be able to modify settings under “Settings” and then “admin. Settings” (well at least that was the way it was down with previous Nokia phones that supported VoIP).
Thanks and best regards,
Marvin

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010Its a typical behaviour for Nokia. Generally it take too lo... moreYes, the battery does act like that more or less. It takes ages to get down from full bars, but then it drops alot faster in relation.
However, the N8 still has amongst the best battery life of all smartphones out there at the moment, even when it has a 1200mAh battery compared to the 1500 of most others.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010your comment was accepted till you said iphone os is slow!!... moretry running symbian at 200mhz processor (or just google N70)
now try running IOS on 200mhz ,
he meant, that IOS is slower if ran on pair with symbian at the same processor clock speed... i dunno if symbian will defiantly beat Ios if both were 1ghz, i guess it will(but i have a feel its not optimized to run at such speeds :D :D)

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010your comment was accepted till you said iphone os is slow!!... moreWhile I agree, only a complete idiot would claim iOS is slow.
However, Symbian isnt slow either. There's more than just black and white - fastest and slow.
I don't think that Symbian^3 loses much in speed to iPhone 4 if we take the transitions effects away from iPhone, so that you dont get the illusion of speed. iPhone is probably still abit faster, but not all that much.
I'm very happy with the speed of the N8.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010I had my N8 for 6 hours.
Even at a short time, I know ho... moreJust to add to the discussion, and I have explained why Nokia is SO smart not to go for Android, here is another proof of this:
http://fosspatents.blogspot.com/2010/10/android-caught-in-crossfire-of-patents.html
So, not only is the device awesome, you can also be sure the OS will be around in 6 to 12 months, with more and more apps, while there is a very real chance Android will need to disappear.
