For those people that have just only read the reviews only on sites that have put down the N8, then take a look at this site on the net, themobileblog. Just google it. There are some really good videos and differen aspects of the phone, from video clarity to even connecting your phone to a TV and using a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to connect it with the phone while still being connected to the TV. It was amaizing!! Especially when he opened he browser and started browsing the net on the TV. The the other stuff that people are also asking about, such as an outdated app store is also reviewed. N8 features the new version of the store. Take a look. I have viewed the so called wonderfull other os app stores. This is right up there with the best. Easy to use and user friendly too. Video and picture quality was tops on this phones video review too. No laggyness and the reviews answer most of our questions.
You guys have to check this site out if you want honest opinions, not one sided ones and comparisons to others os's. This phone is unique in its own right.

I'm one of those people that knows a good product review when I see one...
From what I read in the past hour you can trow cnet, techradar, engadget(just to name a few) in the bin. I'm waiting for mobile-review and gsmarena for a more objective opinion...
The hype is living up to its nature(for now)! :) N8 will dominate the market! (ps-have you seen that digital zoom during the video sample over at AAS? NICE!)

hitec, 02 Oct 2010I just wonder what all these CNN, BBC.. icons are all about... moreCNN, BBC icon gives you on the fly over the air updates automatically on news around the world live from your widget. You dont need to open an app just to read BBC or CNN if you're interested. Unlike other phones like Android or iPhones.

hitec, 02 Oct 2010I just wonder what all these CNN, BBC.. icons are all about... moreYes you can choose to have it on or wipe it off. Its your choice. But it's there if you need it. as for the stopwatch, calender and so on its there. If there's something you need that's not there you can download it. Don't worry all the areas are covered. What more can you expect from Nokia the world biggest mobile maker and Symbian the world most popular Operating System and still is leading by more than 40% .
They give the best support unlike Samsung, LG, Sonyericsson and iPhone. They are always updating over the air so that you have the latest software and improvements. I came from Samsung and SE and will will continue to stick with Nokia as I like their support.

Anybody knows if the 3G will work.. I live in the USA and have ATT as the provider and have 3G service which is 850 the frequency. And if I travel to the Philippines and put a prepaid sim card will the 3G work there since they operate on a different frequency I think like 2100 UTMS... anybody know.......

I just wonder what all these CNN, BBC.. icons are all about, and can you wipe them out the screen whenever you don't need them?! My major concern is wheteher Nokia N8 has the samsunglike organizer(tasks, convertor, calendar, stopwatch, timer..), which I'm so used to because of frequent abroad travel and working out?! Thanx!

To all that say that The Home screen is slightly laggy because it uses live/Active widgets eg. BBC, CNN, Email, Social networking and many more unlike the Android and iPhone which uses mainly just icons which are really just shortcuts. So in this aspect I think Nokia is miles ahead. Not to mention why do you want to open the battery compartment as the SIM and Memory card slots are exterior. Therefore the slight lag as its trying to retrieve info. Just my two cents.

When are you people going to understand, a better lookin UI with tons of animations doesn't make a OS better. IOS (the proclamed king of the eyecandy) lacks a lot of features such as bluetooth file transfer to tell one, Android (the new contender) may look "cool" because of all its transitions, effects and customization but the way it handles the processes is really rubish and that's why it needs those monster processors wich drains the battery in 5-8 hours. Only thing I can agree with some of the haters here is that Symbian needs more usefull apps, I don't know why many developers stopped making apps for Symbian (maybe it's to hard to program for Symbian or it doesn't give as much profits as other OS's) but Nokia is working to make programing for Symbian easier (Qt) and more profitable so maybe we'll see a lot of apps coming to symbian in the next months.
