[deleted post]just how n8 had to copy capacitive screen, multitouch, coverflow fr iph to survive. But comparing n8 to iph4 is unfair since iph4 is top end and n8 is midrange

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2010N8 is NOT better than Samsung Wave! And Wave is NOT PLASTI... morehey wavy boy..wake up...there is no way in which u can compare n8 with wave ok?.its like the rat fighting with a lion(n8)..even though wave does have bada os,it lacks many functions like multitasking and all.and its pics taken in its camera only luks good in the phone's screen becoz of the super amoled, but wen u put it onto comp...u vl get to knw how poor the clarity is...i mean the lighting.i used wave for 1 month and just sold it away just like that..the only thing i liked in it was the super amoled screen..it was realy outstanding.but it can never be considered as a smartphone.n8 does stand above wave at all aspects...like camera...hdmi option,..plug and touch feature by which u can turn ur lcd tv,projector,etc.. into a touch screen(the best faeture ever in phones),..usb..,and wide screen hd video recording..,symbian 3 os,stylish built, and as usual the user friendlyness.i havnt found any other company other than nokia manufacturing user friendly phones.
                    nokia rocks as always.
and i do feel sory for the delay made by nokia to release n8...but remember guys....we hav to always wait for the best to come. late aa vandaalum latesta varum ;-)

Wheez, 29 Sep 2010Maybe cultural difference, but the N97 isnt designed to be ... morePhones (whether it's the N97, N8, Blackberry or whatever brand) should be expected to be turned off from time to time. For instance, I'm sure a typical smartphone user will periodically go to a movie theatre where he is expected to turn off his phone. I'm sure there are many other activities that smartphone users partake in where he would need to turn off his phone. When he turns it back on again, it is a benefit to have it start up more quickly than slowly.

I'm not sure what cultural differences there is where you are from. At least where I am from (Canada), it is considered bad etiquette to have your cell phone on in a movie theatre when the movie is playing. Also, where I work, it is good etiquette to turn off your personal cell phone during work.

can't get why n8 use arm11 processor which can even be found on 5230. GPU will not help much.

My N97 takes about a minute to turn on. It is very annoying to me because my Blackberry turns on in a matter of seconds. I have a Blackberry for work and an N97 for personal use. Every workday, I turn my work phone on when I start work and turn it off when work ends. Likewise, I turn my personal phone off when I start work and turn it back on after work.

I am merely speculating that the Blackberry's fast start up time may be that it is not actually turning off, but is in standby mode. In any case, it starts up fast in mere seconds. That is what I would like in a phone and I believe that is what N97mini_user wants as well. However they do it does not matter to me.

I like the look and specs of the N8 and i wanted to buy one asap, and if i'm going to wait for 3 months for a new phone upgrade while my N97 falls apart...volume not working, battry cover broken again and held on with stickytape, poor battery life....then Nokia keeps shifting its release date, well it will force a lot of people to look elsewhare.
