          Also, why should th N8 be competing with speed, if it's fast enough anyways, winning some benchmarks or having the biggest numbers in the specsheet doesnt do that much for a normal user.

          The N8 cleraly competes with features (that go unrivaled, pretty much) and IMO design/looks. It's not about Nokia not being able to make it faster, sure they couldve hit in that 1ghz CPU too, but they 1) did not find it necessary 2) it would eat more battery 3) it would add in to the price.

          I still the N8 somewhat the best possible balance out of all current smartphones, the camera is abit overkill that breaks the balance somewhat, but at least it's very good.

          That's what I think. I would personally rather have USB OTG and a 400mhz CPU than 1ghz CPU without USB OTG, maybe thats just me but phone for me is only utility, for speed I have my computer.

                  [deleted post]That comparison video is retarded for several reasons:

                  1) The N8 was running NFS:Shift and other shit on the background most of the time, iPhone 4 wouldnt even be able to do this, it would just freeze the game, not real multitasking

                  2) Comparin a released product with several software updates compared to a device that has not been released and is not running final software

                  3) The person knowing iOS alot better than Symbian, he was trying to scroll down even if the page was already in the bottom

                  4) Trying to show web browsing capabilities while the iphone is on wifi while the N8 is on GSM network (not even 3G half of the time). He had some of the pages also readily already loaded while making the N8 load em from a scratch and then trying to scroll etc while the page is loading.

                  5) N8 had Flash on, iPhone can't even use that out of the box. Speed gained by ess features, yay? At least N8 has the option to have it on. I'll personally have it turned off though.

                  6) He also had many of hte applications on in the background on the iphone (once again frozen, not real multitasking, most applications wont run in the background in reality) while he made the N8 load em up from the scratch

                    [deleted post]N8 being the best isnt any more of a fact than iPhone being the best or Samsungs being the best. It may be the best for you (and me), but they are opinions, it depends what you want and need.

                      There really seems to be some quite major difference between ie. galaxy s and iphone 4 GPUs and that of the N8. Im not really a tech geek so i dont really know the terms, but seems that I was using the word dedicated wrong, it might be that the word I was looking for was 3D Hardware acceleration as the difference to other phones

                        However, then the benchmarks are pretty weird, how come the N8 with clearly lesser specs would be that even ;) So either N8s GPU is a fair bit more powerful or then the devices dont take full use out of it.

                        As for game optimization, lets think that N8 would have a more powerful GPU while others had better CPU and lesser GPU, maybe the game is optimized wrong to emphasize on the CPU instead of the GPU that would be needed on the N8s case.

                        The N8 and iPhone 4 can actually use their GPUs to render the UI, Android can't use the GPU to rendering the UI at least not for now.

                        Either way, I could be wrong about the dedicated GPUs, but the N8s GPU obviously seems more powerful, then.

Unless it takes full use of that, itäs not gonna run smoothly. NFS:Shift runs alot better, for example.

                                  N8 is alot more high end than many of it's competitors, both in build quality, hardware (although they've gone for a balanced approach) and features. As the benchmarks show, the N8 is very even with other famous devices, such as Galaxy S or iPhone 4, while having like triple the features compared to the iphone 4 for example and for a cheaper price.

                                  Also a good thing to consider is that super AMOLEDs are not available for anyone but Samsung atm it seems, cos they manufacture them themselves (Thus Nokia making CBD).

                                  Yes, the N8 has a slower CPU than other big names, but the big names do not have dedicated GPUs and thats what makes the devices just as high end. Sure, a 1ghz CPU will win 680mhz + GPU in loading times in games for example, but properly optimized the 680 Mhz + dedicated GPU should be better in actually running the games.

                                  The game can only run as well as it's been optimized for the device.

                                      The price in India is around RS 46000/- which is really very expensive. Better we can buy a dedicated digital Camera for around 6-7k and good ipod around 6-7k with nice head phone around 4-5k and one good phone, obviously not n8.
