Anonymous, 23 Sep 2010i've had nokia, iOS and android, i prefer anroid atm als... morewe all no that a cheater is alot faster than a human but who can run for longer. just wot i fort.i understand wot your saying but its proven to work. and wen something new comes to the market obviously it will effect nokia and companys sales. but i dont think they are behind the times there phones are proving to work and touchscreen nokias wich i have ownd are fast on the touch and you dont need a big 1ghz to make a good smart phone every one on here nos part of wot your saying but nearly 6 million people are interested and its not come out yet. and come on all the i phone has is apps n thats it. and it has alot of draw backs. and look how many i phones have bin returned. we all no the specs and we all think its the best out thats y we want it

also, nokia hasnt been leading the way for a few years now. ever since the iphone came out in 2007 they have dropped the ball completely. everyone else is on the touchscreen/multi-touch route, smoothness, great UI ect, and nokia kinda just stayed in its own little world. the touch screens they have now are nothing compared to the competition, and the n8 is behind the times in the spec list (minus the camera, and usb otg) for 565 USD on launch, that is WAY too much for a device like this, no matter how you look at it.
the small battery doesnt help much either, you can argue that its OS has better battery management than other OS but it doesnt change the fact that its a 3.5" touch screen, that it will be used to web browsing, and music, and camera and as an actual phone. 1200mil battery just doesnt cut it for high end phones unless the user intends to be rather casual with the device.
and lets not forget that it will take a few firmware updates for this phone to run like its supposed to, though i would like to be proven wrong there by nokia but given there current trend i dont see that happening.

[deleted post]you can have 32gb so that doesnt matter. and 1ghz is big and heavy wich means poor battery life and wot its got is proven to work al ready thanks. most of its specs are a amazing wich i think you would agree. unless your secretly a hater lol

[deleted post]an i pad is just like an i phone any one with brains would just get a proper laptop. every ones that gets one is a follower and are nly getin it cos of the name and cos other people get them. and evan if it was rubbish anyone that had 1 wouldnt admit it they wood say it was good just like there i phones. very poor and overpriced peices of kit

Symbian OS uses no or less animations which is good thing. and i like simplicity.
Like in iphone, you have to waste about 1 or 2 secs just for animations where symbian OS takes no time when opening any thing. and why a person waste 1 sec of his life just for UI effects.

But my experience is never buy a phone at release, so i will wait 2 months.

Symbian OS is supporting flash enabled web sites since 2007 or 2008 (dont know exatly) . and if you compare iphone with it, its not supporting. in ios4, it supports but with additional plugin and works verry slow.
Nokia is producing their phones with multimedia features and i believe that if they hier more developers, they will win the mobile crown.
The features like camera (5mp) was first built by nokia. Now 12mp in N8.
Stereo sound without headphones like in N95.
And now other mobiles are copying it. but still, they havnt reach to specs of Nokia.
The ram in this mobile is 256mb which may be increase in N8's other version like in N95 is 64mb and 8G is 128mb.
This mobile + n95/n82/n93/n900 uses both, 3d and open gl where iphone uses only opengl. SO, graphics can be made better on these mobiles if developers work on it.
