Hoping that Swype will end up working nicel for the N8 too, so that would mostly solve the problem of typing for the N8

can you tell me how to choose between iphone4,iphone 3... moreIf you are looking for a real smartphone with real features, definitely the N8. The iPhone is pretty hard to even be called a smartphone cos it lacks so much compared to other new smartphones.
The menus and applications are all smooth and cool, and thats the iPhones strength. If you like lots of goofy apps and games, you might be better off with the iphone. It's very fast in what it allows you to do, the display is very good and the touch action is very precise. Apple is also a "sexy brand", meaning its more of a trendy phone.
The N8 will most likely cost quite abit less than an iPhone 4 (at least in finland) so thats already a reason to get the N8. I also find the N8 more appealing than the iPhone, but most of all, I don't care about the looks that much, but I want the superb features the N8 would give me over an iPhone.
Then again, the N8 hasnt been released yet, so it's abit hard to compare.
Mainly the decision is about what you want and need. Just go on youtube and look at N8 and iPhone 4 videos. If you are getting a smartphone for smartphone capabilities, you will most likely regret getting the iPhone, but for "what it's made", it's a real nifty device!
For comparison, I'd say the N8 is more like an adult/businessman phone, while the iPhone might be a cooler choise for a teenager, who in reality doesnt use even half of the N8s features, but wants a cool touch screen device that can make calls (at least sometimes when u dont block the antenna :D)

can you tell me how to choose between iphone4,iphone 3... morevery easy
do you completely understand what multitasking means? then choose the N8
Do you only have a vague idea or not a clue what multitasking means? Then choose the iphone 3GS (iphone 4 offers barely anything more but its design)
shorter version; do you know anything about technology and are you up to date on the computerlike stuff...?Then definitely go for the N8 because you will appreciate it
if not, then you will absolutely NOT understand why the N8 is better, and you are waaaay better off buying an iPhone

maria martinez , 10 Sep 2010hi can you tell me how to choose between iphone4,iphone 3... moreHow to choose iPhone 4: pick up a phone and hold it left-handed. Try to make a call. If it fails, it is iPhone 4.

[deleted post]GSMArena staff are awake, already deleted :D Hope that clown gets banned.
Back to the N8 awesomeness :D
I think the N8 was really good to hold in hand, it's physically a very nicely balanced device. The aluminium cover feels really good, the camera bulge is actually nice to put your finger under/over (depending on which way you hold the phone), the weight is really nice, heavy enough to feel sturdy, light enough not to be a burden.
Also I think the screen size was a good decision, you can pretty easily reach the screen even in single handed use (common problem with touchscreen devices, I've understood). Bigger is definitely not always better.
The home button could be nicer. It sort of doesn't fit in with the aluminium awesomeness of the rest of the phone. Also might've been better to place it in the middle, cos even if I'm right handed, I always have my phone in my left pocket thus use it with left hand if I only use it quickly, although I could still use it with my left thumb too.

AMANITA, 10 Sep 2010 I 've sent an email to nokia asking about itz default cloc... moreDefinitely. The Mhz in N8s case doesn't tell half of it. With the dedicated GPU doing hw acceleration, it's equal to having AT LEAST a 1Ghz processor. Got to try one with a recent software yesterday and it really was fast.
I even had to try going to the photo browser and then kinetic scrolling em individually and see how fast it can scroll em and the speed was beyond making any sense :D And it kept the 60 fps or so it has during picture browsing even when I was scrolling em super fast.
I can't frigging wait for this thing :D

Wheez, 10 Sep 2010http://www.arm.com/products/processors/classic/arm11/index.... moreBut, since we can't find it out for certain unless Nokia tells us which model of ARM 11 it actually is, there's no point argueing about this.
So let's just say it has 680 Mhz processor with dedicated GPU doing half of the work for the CPU.

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2010ARM 11 NOT have 720mhz cpu-s!
Vivaz have same 720 OVER-clo... morehttp://www.arm.com/products/processors/classic/arm11/index.php
Press Compare Processors and scroll down, there
s this "excel" sheet. I'm not sure if it has all ARM 11 family processors, but at least 4 of em. These 4 have the following frequencies.
Frequency * (MHz)
482
772
990
427
So, there's no "default 600Mhz", but they range from 427 Mhz to 990 Mhz. N8 probably has the one with 770 Mhz and is then underclocked down to 680Mhz.
