Smaller, right? You'll end up straining your eyes just to see the details. It could be very annoying. Whereas a 640x360 3.5in screen can view smaller resolution pictures at a very comfortable size. A big resolution picture are no problem either, that's why there is a term called downscaling.
For me 640x360 is enough for a screen size of 3.2 to 4.0 inches diagonal. You know, that's why computer screens don't go, lets say 3000x2000 pixels given the fact that they are bigger in diagonal size, because it's utterly pointless.
A big resolution screen should always be matched with a big screen in terms of physical size for better experience.

Am gonna ask you the same, have you tried Symbian^3? Im sure not because this is the first unit to have S^3 OS.
Were buying Nokia N8 not just for the OS but for the monster features it has.

lucian, 09 Sep 2010am i sure you never tried android or iOS.No, I didn't. Because I didn't found apps for call recording, for makeing black list for calls or sms. I have google it..no result. So, that's why I will buy Symbian; for its apps.

I will buy this phone, but 1 thing that i miss is LED flash that sucks.
I want to make films at night in a club or something.
My Satio has Xenon and Led flash.
This is missing feature of the N8, too bad.

Another thing, I got Samsung Omnia HD before and it only has 360X640 screen res. but the viewing experience is AWESOME so no need for SUPER AMOLED and 400X800 screen res. got my point again??!!

For me 360X640 screen res. are better than with 480X800, because most application comes with 360X640.
I had Pixon12 before and its hard to find 480X800 screen res. games and apps.

And I myself will buy N8 because it's exactly what I need; and I love Symbian; is the OS for my taste.
But to say that N8's wardware is better in any aspect than Wave's hardware, is stupid.

I'm amused people complain the screen resolution is not high enough. Come on, Can your bare eyes differentiate between 640X360 with the higher resolutions in other phones? There's no such thing as "best" in smartphones, people buy what they need, but what amuses me is people buy what others recommend. What others recommend and need may be different from what you need.
If you dont need the media functions and the camera, while u need high performance and internet etc, buy other phones. If you need them, buy N8 -that's what i need. I dont give a damn bout processor since i dun use widgets much or install lotsa apps.
