opinions opinions. I would have gone for samsung I9000,except for the NO flash. If I want a silouhette I will buy something without a flash. Being a video call user I can't see how you can include phones that can't video call, and then rate this to a phone that has not been released. Only the Samsung can video call and when you have it & use it you will know..
Personally I think that 12Mp is way too much pixels and was surprised why nokia did not come in @8Mp.
A 12Mp jpeg will be approx 6.5Mb each.
could do better I would call you but you don't have vieo call oops

n8 seems to be a superb phone with ultimate features put together and i feel its worth the wait that nokia is making us do. Well but one thing among everything is that the battery life of this monster is still doubtful. What a general mobile user expects is his phone battery should last atleast one whole day. But this gadget has a 1200 mah battery with amoled screen and capacitive touch and so many advanced features and also one of the highest speed processor from nokia which compels me to think of its battery lasting which for me is quite essential. Can anybody share his/her knowledge about this?

Alui, 01 Sep 2010May be, but iOS and Android is a better OS than any Symbian... moreactive diverts is indicating that u r diverting calls may be incoming or outcoming or even the missed call keeper ... go to settings and press cancel all diverts
loudspeaker is acc. after unlocking the screen all phones are like that

If you don't like the active diverts notification, maybe you should turn of diverts. Maybe you can't turn on the loud speaker because you don't know how to. Read your manual. Lol
Besides, these are no justification for your calling ios or android better. Ios for one is complete trash. Iphones remind me of a toy phone i once bought my young un.

Just explain to me what the heck is with the "Active Diverts" message on any symbian phone. Why I cannot turn on the loudspeaker when I receive a call and the screen is blocked?

For these reasons, manufacturers try to use the lowest clock speed that possible. The n8 processors default clock speed is about 750mhz. But why leave it at that when a 680mhz frequency would be sufficient?

Nokia should now release it despite its intention to launch in October as now its becoming frustrating.
Sales may hamper to a great extent if its not released at least till October as by that time a rival may appear which may seem to be more appealing as its too long since nokia announced this phone

nokia offer many decent essential apps like ovi maps, less-known symbian powerful small funtionalities,and some other decent third party apps
hope to see apps like yahoo flickr, yahoo im, google earth, in ovi store
games like tap tap revenge, real racing, flight control

Dear all,
Everybody here who criticize Symbian OS forget followings facts which are pretty obvious...
** Symbian was and still is the MOST POPULAR smart phone OS
** Even most popular Windows Operating System has so many bugs and so many complaints against them.. but still it's the most popular... So called stable Ubuntu, Mac OS or Red Hat are not seeming to challenge windows what so ever...!
** Symbian has the most numbered users so the most numbered complaints as well.. That's simple as that..
** The potential of the Symbian OS is huge... You can do almost anything by using so many 3rd party applications.. Please do complain after at least trying 100 third party applications on a Nokia Symbian mobile and trying them... (I have write to tell that because I've already tried more than 400 applications on my Nokia 5530...)
** And comparing one OS to another is completely subjective... For an example, I personally like Symbian while my friend next me likes apple OS... It totally depends upon somebody's own preference..
At last, I would say,
One of the MAJOR reasons that I am going to buy Nokia N8 is its wonderful OS... Without Symbian 3 on it, I may not even consider of buying it...!
(May be I'm the first to tell this... But yeah.. I love symbian and have soooooooo much experience with it...)
