Excellent phone with excellent features, only drawback is that there is no stero speakers. i m sure the loudspeaker performance of N8 shall be average.

i dont understand why nokia always put very low speakers for loudspeaker unlike samsung.

It doesn´t make any sense to try to prove that one mobile is the best out there. It might be best for you but no everyone has the same requirements! Stop being so narrow minded!

Please, please, please put an end to this war "my mobile is best", it´s just ridiculus, silly and take a lot of place in the forums!!

In India it will be priced between 480 to 540$s including tax. ( INR22k to INR25k ).

When considering the features and Nokia's brand value in India,
                the N8 is attractively priced.

Considering iPhone is overpriced in India and also need to pay whole money to buy it,
N8 will surely be a big Hit.

Also we Indians buy phone once in two or three years,
and Nokia will break its own record in India by selling
more phones than N97 and 5800.

And everyone knows how good is Nokia's support.

Probably u r in korea, thats why support for your Samsung mobile is great.

I totally agree with you brother... Everyone has their own preferences.. Our likes and dislikes are totally subjective... So nobody can argue my preference is better than yours.. It's not fair at all.. (But when we like some thing we always tend to stand for it... Yeah.. We can... within our limits to criticize someone else s preference...)

I personally like Symbian though so many people here have so much complains about it.. I really don't understand why... I know Symbian has its own weaknesses.. But overall it has served me wonderfully with My nokia 5530 mobile... I have installed more than 300 3rd party applications (I know that is a huge amount for a mobile.. But I'm telling the truth...) and I have all the rights to say, that it's a wonderful OS for mobiles...

Just for a comparison, I will tell you guys a story..
One day, one of my friend who's using an Apple 3GS wanted to impress me about apple and showed me several funny applications which were graphically decorated a lot..

I was watching him trying with a smile... and finally I told him the potential of Symbian in my mobile..

                      * I access my Company network through wifi and edit word, excel etc office documents in the network shared folders... I even have a shared folder in my mobile..

                      * I could do following multitasking with my Nokia 5530..
                      Listening to music player
Downloading a web page by Opera mobile
                      Jbak taskmanager running at background
                      RamBlow optimizer running at background
Editing a Word file using Quick Office
Checking some words in MSDict 7 Oxford dictionary
Real Time Anti Virus is running at the back ground
Widgetizer is running at the background
Caller blacklist filter is running at the background
Rompatcher is running at the background
Ultimate voice recorder is running at the background

If I receive a phone call at this point.. If I answer it.. Then automated Call recording software is activated and records the phone call..

All above applications are running SIMULTANEOUSLY without significant performance loss in my Nokia 5530... (which only has 434 MHz processor and just 128 MB little ram...)

Finally I asked my friend (apple owner..) what do you think now...? He had to admit that it's unbelievable..

Just like my friend, so many people don't know about this potential of Symbian... They just look around and complain... You have to dig and find out what is it.. Then only you will realize that 'NOKIA IS NOT STUPID TO RELY UPON SYMBIAN...!'

After all, again I'm telling you my friends... This is only my personal opinion... I love symbian and that's totally subjective... and I'm sure, if you're an Android lover or BADA lover, you'll have so many things to tell me too... As this is a discussion forum... Everybody will be glad to hear from everybody... (Of course with Respect..)

It seems that most of the people who comments here are protecting on their most favorite mobile devices.

For Nokia N8 lovers, this is a pretty good mobile device as communication and entertainment gadget. No doubt that Nokia has late in releasing N8 into the mobile phone market than the other mobile phone makers (like Samsung, LG, or iPhone), still it aims to create the best mobile phone with 12MP camera, HDMI features, AMOLED, and so forth. It is a good effort for Nokia.

For other supporters (Samsung Galaxy S, iPhone and so forth), you have made the right choice for your personal mobile device. No doubt that Samsung produce high quality mobile phone and Apple released user ideal entertainment iPhone, and I totally agreed with it. However, it isn't the best for some of the mobile phone users, as everyone has his/her requirement for its mobile phone usage. Like me, I prefer BlackBerry mobile device, which is a QWERTY board.

In conclusion, choice for your most ideal mobile phone regardless of 'defending' your mobile phone in the forum. Pros and Cons are acceptable, but not in defaming the mobile phone. As in the reality, non of the mobile phone is perfect for us since our demands are high for mobile phone. So, .......

I've heard samsung are getting better. It's good to know that they are releasing their newer handsets with newer version of Android Firmware. I agree that they were behind with some of their older handsets & some newer handset running symbian & windows 6.5 even, they took a while with them. But sometimes when debugging issues they take a while through processes of resolution.

It is no surpise that GPS with KIES is a poor experience & not exactly speedy with the Samsung handset I9000. This explains the sometimes slow laggy GPS. As samsung are only currently integrating Class 12 GPRS/EDGE modems in their phones as opposed to Nokia for instance who are using Class 33 GPRS/EDGE modem in their N8 & all of their devices I think!...

                                  @Dwane.

As someone said I was a little bit over promoting the release. It happens to be Vodaphone UK network who are advertising promoting the Aug 25th dates. It's stated that Nokia want this phone probably launched throughout Europe from August - Sept. America may be last getting the phone by October, but it may be sooner. I think this is the roll out plan. I could be wrong! ...
