You can't say same of glass which is extremely hard. Glass doesn't bend. So long the impact is distributed evenly across the area of the glass, it won't break. Be it gorilla glass or china. The 'gorilla' in the glass is for face drops. I just tested this on two shaving mirrors. One with a wooden frame and the other with a plastic one. The plastic mirror shattered at under 3ft while the wooden framed only shattered at 5ft when it rebounded of the concrete and landed on its face.

Every one knows that N8's price is 307 euros before tax.
You have to include VAT + Resellers profit with this price.
In most of the states in India the VAT is 4% for IT related products.
(But in Maharashtra its 12.5%.)
I expect the price range will be around 25K INR.
But it may be cheaper than what I mentioned.

Only Nokia has best software features. I am using Nokia 5230. , my sis has Samsung and my friend has Htc and another has black berry.
N8 has top features,!
Compare with any one and then see.
I have compared wth iphone 4G, black berry,sony ericsson xperia,satio, samsung wave.
Nokia is BEST!

at the current market, npkia is not the best
because they have nofast symbian touch phone until n8hit the markeet
n900 is not capacitive
you can see that is why the folk at nokia is old, they dont know what the teenagers want

Come On Nokia! you are frustrating loads of people waiting for the N8,o.k Nokia you have put yourself underloads of pressure not producing a really Top End Mobile for ages an are losing Touch Nowdays,but to show the N8 off in April an still no sign of Yet,seems along time for a Company that releases loads of mid tear mobiles nearly every month,You let the N97 down an better not do the same with the N8 or your name will get doomed more,Please let the N8 be made available by August 25th or loads will switch to other company mobiles an the sales of the N8 not as good as you were expecting

The iphone glass shatters beca... moreI know about the aluminium frame and i am almost sure that n8 is tougher than the iphone but as you know some people dies in car accidents even when their car's body is not heavily damaged .you know why?it is because the force of impaction transfered through the car's body to the driver's body,the same principle can be applied to n8 when the force transfers to the glass through the frame.

The whole front and back panels are made of gorilla glass! Only seperated from the sides by a thin strip of metal. This means that the full force of a side impact is transferred into the glass hence the fracture. The n8 on the other hand is made of a solid aluminium frame! I won't expect the n8 glass to shatter not even from a 10m side drop. The aluminium takes the impact not the glass.
Besides, your logic is so faulty. How could the galaxy possibly win? It can't even survive a 3m face drop. I've seen 3 galaxies. 2 of them had their screens broken lol.

n8... morefirst of all you are a liar kid,because if you had a corby phone and had trouble with it you will not by another samsung phone unless you are a du*mb,next if you really own samsung wave you would know that there are no buttons on the upper part of wave ,the lock ,the camera and volume buttons are on the both sides,and can easily be pressed by the thumb and index finger.
watch some youtube videos to see how (normal stature) people can easily touch any part of the screen.

And with glass panels that are pretty hard to replace this is not something you want to have to deal with)and as you might know the iphone uses the same gorilla glass,and has similar heavy weight as the shaving machine shaped the n8,and this makes samsung wave the winner because its light weight makes it not easily to be dropped,and so less opportunity to fall on its side.

I have been testing samsung wave and Iphone 4 both are very dissapointing.i phone with the network problems and Samsung was better but not cost efficent and i would prefer nokia N8 i am using the nokia N97,and i upgraded my software and believe me its been lovable since then and its been a excellent experience using phone, AND I CAN WAIT TO GET MY HAND ON THIS PHONE PLEASE NOKIA MAKE IT QUICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love using nokia phones but i think that nokai is not able to make a good smart phones like samsung smart phones, samsung smart phones are more user frendely then nokia

N8 is last chance for nokia to prove that it can produce bug free high end phones. if it fails in its efforts customers wont forgive it this time and it will become phone maker for people living below poverty line only. For nokias sake and smartfone markets sake i hope it succeeds and produces n8 bug free with specs as published and demoed. Any error will be punished severly this time. Nokia knows this. Nokia lovers know this. nokia haters know this.
I will buy n8. But after 6 mths after satisfying myself from reviews. Also it will be cheaper by that time.

I have been comparing nokia phones to other phones running ios and android, i dont have a chance to get myhand on webos pre:(
nokia phone is well balanced and feature rich, sorry to tell nokia did not listen to customers for the past three years after n95, today many people think that the high end phone is a pjhone with high resolution, capacitive screen with multitouch and have menu-less os!, cpu at least arm cortex and above 256ram
i just hope nokia put audio chip in their n seriesphone, put gpu in mid range phones. Cpu at least arm 11 600 mhz 256 ram, then lots oss people wont encounter the old nokia phone problemlike phone stopping response, lagging and slow processing
nokia touch phone is not mature in this year,will become mature next year after meego and symbian 4, i am planning to upgrade my mini na97 to meego in year 2012

N8 has a 3.5 inch SCRATCH RESISTANT GORILLA GLASS DISPLAY. A 3.5 inch display has a big surface area and therefore needs a strong glass display (GORILLA GLASS). FACT:- the bigger the display the higher the probability that it will break if some strong external force is imposed on it & that's why N8 has the strongest GLASS display. That's it can't break easily. WAVE'S glass is weak! Weak! Weak! Weak! Weak! Weak! Weak! Weak! Very weak! Why? Because at 3.3 inch its surface area is big and if some strong external force is applied on it, it will easily break. Ya heeaaaarrrdd! Go on buy the weak Wave, & take care of it like an Egg. BTW at 118 mm length its as long as a TV'S remote control, Very uncomfy. ''force that down your throat'' & if u can't swallow, B*CHS then GARGLE!

Come on!! Nine months till it gets to our hands...! Tha's so long n i'm still waiting. Should they conssider that htc n apple are much aheade? When i buy it or if, it will be exhausted technology... pffff...
